A new season of ranked battles has started. Ranked Battle mode

Ranked battles are seasonal competitions where the strongest tankers compete, and the best of the best receive well-deserved rewards.

The "Ranked Battle" mode is based on the rules of Standard Battle and is available only for Tier X vehicles. The balancer of this mode selects participants with equal levels of gaming skill into teams. Based on the results of battles, players are awarded a rank, which can then be increased by winning battles and earning chevrons.

Features of the mode

You can participate in Ranked Battles only using Tier X vehicles. To quickly find a suitable tank, use the filters on the vehicle panel in the Hangar.

Ranked battles follow the familiar rules of Standard Battle:

  1. Battle format: 15×15.
  2. Goal: capture the enemy base or destroy all enemy equipment.
  3. Duration of the battle: up to 15 minutes.
  4. The list of maps is determined before the start of each new season

Players are selected for a team by rank, which they receive for effective combat actions in Ranked Battles.

By default, your team and the enemy team only include players of the same rank. If this is not possible, then the balancer creates two teams with players of different ranks, but in the same proportion: the number of players of each rank in both teams is equal.

Ranked battles are only available during a certain period, called a “season”

Features of the second season

The second season of ranked battles largely repeats the first; the rules remain the same. The main difference of the second season was the decoding of the experience earned:

  • A new tab will appear in the battle results window with a section of detailed statistics for each player.
  • The overall experience value will be divided into three categories. By hovering your mouse over each of them, you can see the corresponding list of experience points earned.

Ranks

The main goal of Ranked Battles is to earn ranks. The more often you win and the more experience you earn, the higher your rank and the more valuable the rewards.

For each rank, 1 point is awarded. If you received a rank, lost it and earned it again within the same season, rank points are not awarded again. After reaching the last rank provided for by the regulations, it becomes possible to earn ranks on vehicles. The total number of points earned determines whether the player will be included in the ranking table of Ranked Battles, what place he will occupy in it, and whether he will enter one of the bonus leagues at the end of the season.

Leaders of the season

The most experienced and skillful players are included in the rating table of Ranked Battles, which is called “Season Leaders”. Your position in the ranking is determined by the number of rank points: the more points you earn, the higher your position.

The number of points required to get into the rating table is determined before the start of each new season

At the end of the competition, the first 50% of the season's leaders are distributed across three prize leagues. The remaining 50% of players do not make it to the league.

Ranked battles started on February 19 at 5:00 (Moscow time) and will continue until March 12, 5:00 (Moscow time). Detailed regulations can be found at the link:

One goal, one stage

Starting next year, the season of ranked battles will become continuous. The new season will consist of just one stage, so you will no longer need to sit in front of the computer all day long to reach the maximum rank in a week. Now you will have 21 days and a whopping 15 consecutive ranks.

Rank protection

As you already know, there will be 15 ranks in the new season (the higher the rank achieved, the better). Rank 1 and 15 do not expire. However, the season will be long and intense, so we are introducing a Rank Protection system that will guarantee the safety of certain ranks and give you room for error.

How it will work: Rank 5, 10 and 13 will have protection (literally) that will allow you to not lose rank even if according to the rules this should have happened. This system will allow us to forgive you some mistakes, and you will be able to gather yourself before the next breakthrough. The protection is destructible. Before the defense is destroyed and you lose rank, you will be forgiven a certain number of defeats.

  • Rank 5 allows 3 losses.
  • Rank 10 allows 2 defeats.
  • Rank 13 allows 1 defeat.

Remember that each defeat will reduce your rank defense by one point. However, even receiving one chevron will be enough to completely restore the strength of the defense.

The winner takes it all

Chevrons still determine your rank progression, and we've changed their distribution to help motivate you.

At the end of the battle, the 10 best players of the winning team and only 1 best player of the losing team will receive chevrons. However, if you are among the top three players on the winning team, you will receive an additional chevron. If you are among the bottom 10 players on the losing team, you will lose one chevron. For all other positions occupied, the number of your chevrons is maintained. This system will allow good players to earn ranks faster, providing additional motivation for effective play.

This is what it will look like:

Rating

To guarantee your place in the ranking, you will need to earn at least 6 rank points, which means reaching rank 6. Further progress will be more difficult than it seems. As before, you will receive one point for each new rank you achieve. After reaching rank 15, every 5 chevrons earned on a specific vehicle will give an additional rank point and 25 . And starting from this season, you will be able to monitor your position in the ranking both in the game and on our portal.

Participants in ranked battles will receive special rewards: they will depend on your success in the season. Therefore, it is important to demonstrate good performance both individually and as a team!

About the awards

Since next season will be a single competition, there will be no stage awards. However, the rewards for achieving ranks will remain and will be revised to justify your efforts and motivate you to move forward. For example, by reaching rank 9 you will earn up to 1,500, and the higher the rank, the larger the reward will become. For reaching rank 15 you will receive a total of 4,500 and more than 3,500,000.

We'll also be reviewing end-of-season rewards to ensure you get the rewards you deserve in gold, bonds, and premium account days. And for getting into each of the leagues you are guaranteed to receive unique styles and stripes

Short list of cards

The previous season showed that some maps are poorly suited to the requirements of ranked battles. For this reason, we have updated the list of available maps, removing Erlenberg and Marsh from the rotation.

Available maps: “Karelia”, “Robin”, “Himmelsdorf”, “Prokhorovka”, “Ensk”, “Lasville”, “Mines”, “Murovanka”, “Siegfried Line”, “Monastery”, “Westfield”, “Sandy” river", "El Halluf", "Airfield", "Fjords", "Fisherman's Bay", "Polar Region", "Highway", "Quiet Coast", "Tundra", "Windstorm", "Paris", "Industrial Zone" .

We've made all of these changes to make winning more rewarding, reward top-performing players, and rank based on your skill level. Now it's your turn: take part in ranked battles and tell us how it worked out with the help of reviews on the forum!

The final stage in the development of ranked battles will be the beta season, which starts on June 5 and will give everyone the opportunity to experience new sensations in World of Tanks. Enter the mode to fight with players of equal skill, earn ranks, receive exclusive rewards and share your opinions.

Previous tests have generally gone well, and we are grateful to everyone who provided feedback and reported bugs. This time you will check the actual finished product and point out elements that need improvement. We will closely monitor the statistics of ranked battles to understand what impact they have in each region, and we will also use your feedback to finalize functionality, rewards and economics.

We have created an extended guide that we recommend that you study before the start of the Ranked Battles beta season. However, first read this article to the end.

Features of the mode

Battles are only available on Tier X vehicles, and to win you must destroy all the enemy’s equipment or capture his base. Although winning increases your chances of getting a chevron, it is a secondary factor. Much more important is high efficiency in battle and gaining experience, because it is the position in the team list in terms of the amount of experience earned that determines your progress. Once you are in the top 12 players by experience on the winning team or in the top 3 by experience on the losing team, you earn a chevron and are one step closer to a new rank. In other words, you have nothing to lose if you give your best - even if your team played poorly. At the same time, if the team won, and your personal result did not allow you to enter its top 12 in terms of experience, your current progress in ranks will be preserved: the chevron will neither be written off nor awarded.

The higher your personal result, the higher your rank - and the opponent is selected precisely in accordance with the rank.

Check out the Ranked Battles guide to learn more about player and vehicle ranks, season structure, and progression.

Reward

For every success in ranked battles, you are entitled to a reward. You receive prizes for all significant achievements: completing a combat mission, receiving a new rank, or getting into a prize league.

Pioneer of ranked battles

  • Combat Mission - Reward for Perseverance
  • Limitations – Performed once a day. Only in ranked battles
  • Condition – Be in the top 10 team by experience in at least 10 battles
  • Reward – 75,000 silver. x3 Large first aid kit. x3 Automatic fire extinguisher. x3 Large repair kit

At the end of the season and its stages, you will receive a certain amount of new currency - bond, as well as reward boxes. Bonds can be used to purchase pre-battle instructions and advanced equipment. The number of bonds earned at the end of a stage depends on the maximum rank achieved during that stage. For example, if you first get rank IV, and then lose one and complete the stage at rank III, then you will receive 400 bonds (the number of bonds received for rank IV). The number of bonds that will be awarded at the end of the season depends on the overall rating, which is calculated based on the ranks earned during all stages of the season, and your position in the list of Season Leaders. Only the top 50% of players will receive an additional reward at the end of the season. So, the higher your position in the ranking, the higher your chance of receiving bonds and the more rewards you will earn.

Improved equipment, pre-battle instructions, awards and bonds earned in the beta season will not be debited from players who comply with the Game Rules.

Additionally, all Beta Season participants who earn four or more Rank Points will receive an exclusive medal.

Go to to see the full list of awards.

Leaders and leagues

The strongest players in ranked battles will be among the Season Leaders. Your place among the Season Leaders will be determined by the number of rank points earned when reaching new ranks. The more points you earn, the higher your position. You can check your position and compare your progress with other players at any time directly in the game client.

With the start of a new stage, rank progress is reset, and the rank points earned go towards the overall standings of the season. The overall result at the end of the season will be calculated based on your performance at each stage. This means that getting into the Season Leaders directly depends on the stability of the game results throughout the season. The ultimate goal is to get into the top half of the list of Season Leaders and maintain your position in it until the end of the season. This way you guarantee yourself a place in one of the prize leagues, an impressive number of bonds, as well as a unique patch (depending on the league) indicating the level of your skill. The patch will be displayed in the Hangar, as well as in battle next to your nickname, confirming your effectiveness.

If you don't need extra attention and prefer to do your job without standing out, you can turn off the display of badges. While in the Hangar, simply left-click on your nickname in the upper right corner of the screen, and then on the patch slot to hide them.

Go to the regulations and rules of ranked battles to familiarize yourself with detailed information about leagues and stripes.

Next steps

The beta season of ranked battles is of a pilot nature. Over the course of this season, we will collect feedback and make necessary changes based on it.

Analyzing player feedback will allow us to understand the need to make changes to the functionality, reward system and economy of the mode, including improved equipment and pre-battle instructions.

Although Bonds are being introduced into the game as part of the Ranked Battles Beta Season, this mode was not intended to be the only way to obtain Bonds and will not be considered as such in the future. In the future, we will make it possible for players to earn bonds in other game modes, and we will also expand the list of things that can be purchased with their help.

With the start of the beta season, all players will receive 100 bonds

All players who register for the game before July 3 will receive 100 bonds when the beta season begins. Players will also be able to try out new pre-battle instructions for crew or equipment in battle, which will allow for significant feedback.

In the development of ranked battles, it is you who will put the finishing touches. We look forward to your feedback on gameplay, balance, and the ranking system. Let's meet in battle on June 5th!

The second season of ranked battles has ended August 16 at 5:00 (Moscow time) . Rewards are already credited to accounts. Congratulations to the winners!

Ranked battles are only available during prime time on select servers. Prime times may change during the season.

  • Weekdays:
    • RU5: 15:00 - 0:00 (Moscow time)
    • RU6: 11:00 - 1:00 (Moscow time)
    • RU8: 11:00 - 19:00 (Moscow time)
  • Weekend:

    • RU6: 11:00 - 1:00 (Moscow time)
    • RU8: 9:00 - 19:00 (Moscow time)

In the last season we achieved a good balance between time and playing skills required for high performance. So the basic rules remain the same: 15 ranks, chevrons, three leagues and a rank protection system.

But some things will still change.

What is experience awarded for?

During past seasons of ranked battles, we encountered a misunderstanding among some players about how experience is awarded in battle. For example, the battle results page did not give a clear idea of how the final value of earned experience is formed. There were situations when a player’s effectiveness in battle was obviously higher than that of others, but in the results of the battle he was lower in experience.

We think that such injustice can seriously spoil the mood, what do you think?

Overall, this time there will be enough information in the battle results window to give each player a clear idea of the experience earned. It will look like this:

  • A new tab will appear in the battle results window with a section of detailed statistics for each player.
  • The overall experience value will be divided into three categories. By hovering your mouse over each of them, you will see the corresponding list of experience points earned.

1. Damage and destruction of equipment

  • Damage inflicted on enemy equipment.
  • Damage inflicted on enemy vehicle modules.
  • Destroyed enemy vehicles.
  • Bonus for total team damage. The value will be the same for the entire team and will not affect your position in the battle results. We understand that this factor does not directly depend on the personal actions of one player, but it provides greater transparency of calculations.

2. Help with damage

  • Assist in dealing damage: transmitting intelligence, placing on a caterpillar and stunning.
  • Capture and defend the base.
  • Initial detection of enemy vehicles.

3. Active hostilities

  • For example, firing at a certain distance from the enemy, being within the radius of enemy fire, etc.

Yes, the rules have not changed, but let's go over the main points again.

There are 15 ranks available to you, to obtain which you will need a different number of chevrons:

Rank protection

As in the previous season, the rank protection system will allow players to breathe a sigh of relief at certain stages, even if they make a mistake. The 5th, 10th and 13th ranks will have protection against loss: before losing a rank, you will be able to play a certain number of battles without consequences.

  • At rank 5, 3 defeats are allowed.
  • At rank 10, 2 defeats are allowed.
  • At rank 13, 1 defeat is allowed.

Each defeat with the loss of a chevron will reduce the rank defense by one point. However, receiving even one chevron will completely restore protection.

Chevron distribution

At the end of the battle, chevrons are awarded to the 10 best players of the winning team and the best player of the losing team. If you are in the top three of the winning team, you will receive an additional chevron. If you finish the battle in the bottom ten of the losing team, you will lose your chevron. Having finished the battle in any of the remaining positions, you will keep all your chevrons, but you will not receive new ones.

This is what it will look like:

check yourself

To be on the leaderboard, you must achieve at least rank 6. It's not too difficult - the same cannot be said for further upward movement.

As before, you will receive one point for the first time you achieve a new rank. Once you reach rank 15, it's time for individual vehicles: for getting five chevrons on a separate vehicle, you will earn an additional rank point and 25 bonds. You can track your progress in the game client and on our portal:

Awards

Rewards for reaching certain ranks remain the same. For example, for receiving rank 9 you will receive up to 1,500. The further you go, the more valuable the reward: for reaching rank 15 you will receive more than 4,500 and 3,500,000.

What are ranked battles?

Ranked battles are an opportunity to fight opponents of approximately equal skill levels in intense battles. The main goal is to get to the highest possible league before the end of the stage. For skillful actions in ranked battles, you earn points, thanks to which you move up the leagues.

Battles take place in a 7 vs 7 format in the Standard Battle mode on certain maps. In ranked battles, you don't have to pay for tank repairs, so you'll earn more silver in battles than in online battles. Moreover, in this stage, for each battle where you deal more than 500 units of damage, provide intelligence that causes your allies to inflict at least 500 units of damage, or discover at least two enemy vehicles (all you need to do is meet one of these conditions), you will receive twice as much silver!

At the end of the season, you will receive a medal and rewards corresponding to the league you managed to achieve.

Balance by league

First, the balancer will select players from one league for the team, then from nearby leagues, and only then, if it still fails to assemble teams, will it supplement them with players from the queue, regardless of the league.

  • The waiting time for players from the same league is 90 seconds.
  • The waiting time for players from neighboring leagues is 120 seconds.
  • After 120 seconds of waiting in line, players from any league can join your team.
