Facing a frame house. External cladding of a frame house: facade tiles, natural and artificial stone, decorative plaster and siding

Construction technologies frame houses have been used in our country for many years. We are talking not only about multi-story construction, where the building frame is assembled from precast concrete.
At low-rise construction houses are more often used wooden frames. In this article we will tell you how to decorate the facade frame house so that it looks modern and stylish.
Let's also consider all the nuances of finishing, and related materials necessary to do it yourself.

Before discussing how the facades of frame houses are finished, you need to know what types of such structures exist. It has crucial when choosing .
Naturally, technology finishing works however, it may differ. The most common three are structural type frame houses: frame-post, panel and frame-frame.

Frame-rack type house

So:

  • Frame-post and post-beam types are not very different from each other, so their finishing can be considered in general. And the essence of such finishing is to fill the space between the racks with insulation and decorate the walls outside and inside.

  • frame house is multi-layered. In the photo above we have provided a diagram that clearly shows the location of each layer.
    And the first thing you need to do is purchase the right insulation.
  • Since the width of the wooden stand is 15cm, the thickness thermal insulation material must fit this size. The insulation should not be taken in roll form, but in the form of slabs.
    It can be different kinds wool: mineral, stone, fiberglass. Penoizol, isolon, and expanded polystyrene are used with the same success.
  • The most low price at the foam. In addition, this is the lightest material, which is its undoubted advantage.
    But there is also a minus: of all types of insulation, polystyrene foam is the most flammable. You should know about it, and it's up to you to use it or not.

  • When the width of the heat-insulating board is one or two centimeters greater than the distance between the posts, it is very convenient to install it - the insulation does not fall out of the cells. On the inside, a vapor barrier film will be mounted on it, for example: “Izospan V”.
  • If you purchase more modern insulation with a foil surface, then it will need to be mounted with foil inside the house and a vapor barrier film will not be needed. Simply, a sheathing of 20*90mm lath will be placed on top of the insulation.

  • The same sheathing will be on the outside, but first there will be waterproofing - also known as wind protection. Thin roll membrane in in this case, would not be a suitable option.
    It will protect the house from moisture, but not from wind. Exterior finishing frame house, provides for the use of a three-layer diffusion membrane as a windproof layer.

To fix it, use 45*45mm counter slats, which are packed along the height of the racks. The outer sheathing will be attached to the same slats.
When the filling of the “pie” is ready, all that remains is to line it decorative material. And what exactly – we’ll talk a little later.

Finnish house

The concept " panel house» we are familiar with, especially in northern regions. This is nothing more than a Finnish house.
As a rule, this is a one- or two-story structure with a gable symmetrical roof.

Assembling a Finnish house from timber

So:

  • By and large, this is a cottage built in various ways. Finnish houses can be constructed from laminated veneer lumber, or assembled from ready-made panels.
    All parts of the house are produced as a complete set: frame, rafters, and walls.
  • Panel structures require the least amount of time to assemble a house, no more than one month. Wall panels come from the factory already stuffed with insulation and even electrical wiring, so after assembling the house all that remains is finishing.

  • Wall panels are made from OSB boards, which, despite their woody origin, have good strength, resistance to humidity, temperature changes, and mold. The exterior decoration of a Finnish house assembled from panels can only be reduced to painting the walls.
  • But how beautiful it looks if painting is combined with other types of finishing, for example: with clapboard cladding or contrasting slats placed along the contours of the panels. To finish the facade in this way, you need to mount it on its surface. façade panels with the corresponding invoice.

In traditional Finnish houses Wood has always been used for the manufacture of structures and exterior wall decoration. But new ones are appearing Decoration Materials, and today it is not difficult to give a wooden house any appearance, including creating an imitation of masonry on the walls.

Frame technology

This type of frame is known throughout the world as half-timbering (see). It originated in the Middle Ages, and many European countries consider this architectural style yours.
Its essence boiled down to the fact that first a frame was created, the basis of which was not racks, but frames with spacers.

So:

  • Their cavities were filled with available materials: brick, clay, stone. Now many other materials have appeared that perfectly fulfill this role, for example: foam concrete blocks, magnesite and cement-bonded particle boards.
  • The exterior decoration of a frame house, such as half-timbered timber, is incredibly original and never goes out of style. To implement it, you do not need ultra-modern finishing materials.
    The beauty of the facade is achieved by the variety of geometric shapes formed by the beams - plus contrasting colors.

  • By the way, at present, not only wooden frames are created for half-timbered houses, but also metal ones. This increases construction costs, but such a frame is more durable - and there’s no arguing about that.
  • The process of insulating such a house is similar to the one we described above. Only wooden sheathing is not used, but glass-magnesite sheets are used as wind protection, which are the basis for painting.

Thanks to design features half-timbered houses, a similar style arose in the decoration of the facades of buildings with a completely different design. The exterior decoration of frame houses in the half-timbered style excites minds and leaves no one indifferent.
This type of facade finishing can be done on any building, only the role of a contrasting frame will be played by polyurethane beams mounted on the wall surface.

Finishing of frame houses

If the supporting structures are made of wood, finishing the exterior of a frame house with wood will be quite logical. And there are several options.
The facade can be sheathed with clapboard boards, the cross-section of which can, for example, imitate timber or a rounded log.

So:

  • There is a type of side panels made, as we are used to seeing, not from aluminum or vinyl, but from wood. The cost of such siding is higher than that of lining boards, but its surface does not require any antiseptic or decorative treatment.
    Consequently, this work requires less time and consumables.
  • All of the types of siding we have mentioned are currently widely used in finishing the facades of various buildings, and not only frame ones. This is due to the ease of installation of the panels, the affordable cost of the material, its good appearance and assortment.
    Wall cladding is done quite quickly; watching a video on this topic will be enough to figure out what needs to be done and how.

  • The exterior of a frame house can be finished with wooden façade panels. They are made from wood fiber using polymer resins as binder.
    They endow the wood additional properties inherent in polymers. It is resistant to moisture and deformation, temperature changes and ultraviolet radiation.

  • Facade panels can be of a completely different design, for example, metal. The basis for their production is galvanized aluminum sheet, the surface of which can have polymer coating, some kind of relief, or wood imitation.
  • frame houses with facade panels - this is perhaps the simplest and quick way clad a building, even a multi-story one.
  • Take, for example, fiber cement panels. They are made from dissolved cellulose, cement and synthetic fiber. Fiber panels mounted on the facade of the house create a neat and attractive wall surface.
    Moreover, you can get any desired imitation: even brickwork, even stone.

  • The same can be said about thermal panels. The only difference is that they don't imitate natural materials, and their surface is lined with stone or clinker tiles in the factory.
    All façade panels fit perfectly together and allow for high-quality cladding of an arbitrarily large area.
  • By the way, if you want the brickwork to be natural, there is nothing stopping you from lining the walls of the house with real brick. For this purpose, there is a hollow, lightweight brick called facing brick.
  • The picture below does not show all the types and colors of such bricks. There are options, one side of which has chips that make the brick look like stone.
    The instructions found on the Internet will help you understand the nuances of brickwork.

  • Facing brick can help you not only in finishing the facade, but also in decorating the fence local area or in landscape design.

  • Such a base can be the same OSB boards, five-layer plywood, or thin sheets of polystyrene foam. Reinforcing mesh can be used metal, with small cells.
    To plywood, or OSB boards it is fixed with nails. It is more convenient to glue a fiberglass mesh onto the surface of polystyrene. Well, then plastering is done in the same way as if it were a block or brick house.

On this basis, you can perform not only plastering, but also tiled or stone fragmentary cladding. This may be necessary when finishing the basement of the house, performing decorative panel on the walls.
As you can see, to finish a frame house you can use all the materials that are used for buildings made of concrete and brick - it is only important to follow the technology of work.

Exterior decoration of a frame house is an important and necessary stage construction, because the frame is without facade cladding looks ugly, moreover, it is poorly protected from exposure external environment. We will tell you how to decorate the facade of a frame house, what materials are used for this, and how to do the work yourself.

Finishing a frame house

Structure and features of frames

Do-it-yourself interior finishing of a frame house, as well as external finishing, should be done taking into account design features this type of structure.

The following differences most noticeably affect the finish:

  • The load-bearing basis of the house is a wooden frame, which distributes the load through a system of posts, beams, rafters and crossbars from the roof of the structure to its foundation. As you know, wood is quite flexible and soft material, and under the influence of forces the frame gives some shrinkage, uneven displacement and movement of parts relative to each other is observed;
  • As a rule, frames are placed on columnar or pile foundations, and uneven subsidence of the structure is possible, which is not particularly fatal for the frame, since it is flexible and can allow slight distortions and changes in geometry, but a monolithic coating, such as plaster, can crack;
  • The walls of the house consist of a system frame beams and panels that fill the space between the beams. Often, instead of panels, this space is filled with insulation and sheathed on both sides with moisture-resistant OSB plywood, which in itself cannot perform the functions of facade finishing, either in terms of decorative or structural characteristics;
  • The structure of the wall is such that the insulation is located in its internal space, therefore for middle zone and south external insulation not required. At the same time, many still sheathe their houses with polystyrene foam, since it is an excellent base for plaster.

All these features allow you to determine how to decorate the outside of a frame house so that the coating lasts as long and efficiently as possible. As a rule, preference is given to mounted façade structures, various panels and slabs, wood paneling and plaster.

Important! Facade decoration facing bricks are produced very rarely, since a frame house is an option for budget prefabricated housing, and the price of laying work and the cost of the brick itself make this advantage insignificant.

Types of external finishing

Now let's look at the materials for finishing the facade of a frame house.

Most often, the following means are used for these purposes:

  1. Ventilated facades, siding, vinyl blockhouse and other types of hanging structures. Low cost, easy installation, high reliability and the durability of these coatings have made the technology a leader in the construction market;
  2. Cladding with clapboard, blockhouse, wood siding and other wood products allows you to create a complete resemblance to a wooden house made of timber or logs, which is not only fashionable and solid, but also natural, beautiful and warm;
  3. Decorative facade plaster looks great and creates the effect of a Mediterranean cottage; in addition, this material protects the walls well and lasts quite a long time;
  4. Finishing with various panels imitating brick, stone, timber and other coatings is also affordable and easy to install;
  5. creates the impression of an expensive, solid house, but at the same time creates a large load on the walls and foundation, and is comparable in cost to brick. However, it is widely used, especially for corners, windows and doorways and other parts of the structure together with other types of cladding.

Installation of a ventilated facade or siding takes a minimum of time and does not require special knowledge or skills. At the same time, such a coating is easy to care for, and if necessary, it can be quickly dismantled and replaced with another coating.

The same can be said about all kinds of panels, the installation of which does not cause difficulties, and the cost is affordable for many citizens with relatively low incomes.

Wood siding is similar to installing siding, only there is less various parts and fastening rules, everything is intuitive and simple: we make the sheathing and stuff the board, we decorate the joints, corners and openings with platbands and various shaped elements: corners, vertical and horizontal overhead slats.

Finishing the outside of a frame house with plaster requires a lot of effort, but as a result you will get a beautiful façade in Mediterranean style, which is a classic and decorates any homestead. It is better to use polystyrene foam as the basis for installing the coating, as it does not absorb moisture and allows wet work to be carried out without hindrance.

Facing the facade with stone or tiles will make your house look like a real castle or brick mansion, and it is almost impossible to distinguish such a coating from natural masonry by eye, and the service life of the materials is tens and hundreds of years.

Important! When choosing modern finishing technologies, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the requirements of the manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations, follow installation rules and use only proven and recommended materials and tools.

Installation of facade plaster

For those who are interested in finishing the facade of a frame house with decorative plaster, we have compiled step-by-step instructions:

  1. Along the lower border of the walls, above the base, around the entire perimeter of the house we attach a starting rail made of a metal profile or wood. The rail must be strictly horizontal;

  1. Apply glue to a sheet of foam plastic or EPS notched trowel, we press the sheet against the wall from the corner, resting it on the starting rail, and then fix it with screws through the plastic roundels. We stagger the rows so that the seams overlap like brickwork;

  1. We gradually cover the entire façade with polystyrene foam and foam the joints;

  1. We attach a non-alkaline reinforcing mesh to the surface of the foam, which we cover with glue so that there is a continuous layer of rough putty on the surface. The house will resemble a stone or concrete building;

  1. Pour about a third of the water into the bucket and pour the mixture into the water. facade plaster. Stir the solution with a drill fitted with a mixer attachment;

  1. We take the solution onto a spatula and apply it to the wall in an even, neat layer. We make the thickness as indicated on the packaging by the manufacturer. If the plaster is textured, then using directed rotations or rectilinear movements create a pattern on the surface;

Important! Prepare the amount of solution that you will have time to produce before the mixture begins to set in the bucket.

Conclusion

A frame house needs mandatory facade finishing, which can be produced using a set various materials and technology. We showed how to finish with decorative plaster, and the video in this article will complement our instructions clear examples ().

Frame houses are gaining popularity in our country, and the advantages of this option for constructing country housing are obvious. The frame structure is inexpensive, beautiful, strong and durable. As a rule, wooden frames are used for its construction. But you can decorate the facade of a frame house in a variety of ways, fortunately, the choice of materials on the market is currently huge. For most homeowners, it is quite possible to do the cladding of a frame house with your own hands. In this article we will talk about what the finishing of the facade of a frame house can be like.

Brick finishing

Facing brick is a material that makes it possible to make the facade of any building, including frame buildings, stylish, noble and modern. In addition, the cost of such a building on the housing market becomes significantly higher, and the service life when proper organization façade works are increasing.

Facing decorative bricks It could very well be done by hand. It is made in half a brick. The work is performed as follows:

Step 1. A shallow strip foundation is made along the entire perimeter of the building: the brickwork will rest on it (the concrete will gain strength in 28-30 days).

Step 2. If necessary, the facade of the building is insulated using mineral wool, foam or other materials. A layer of waterproofing (rolled membrane, etc.) must be installed.

Step 3. We use special flexible anchors (made of polymers) to tie brickwork in one piece with the wall of the frame house. Additional anchors are placed along the perimeter of window and door openings; they also need to be placed in the corners of the building. The rigid part of the anchor is driven into the tree, the second end of the fastener will remain between the masonry bricks.

Step 4. We cover the base of the house with roofing felt and begin finishing with bricks - laying starts from the corner. In order to ensure that the masonry is level, a cord is pulled in advance, and the first row is checked with a building level. The brick is placed either on edge or flat - it depends on your preferences.

Step 5. When facing with brick, “vents” are created in the lower rows of the masonry - special openings that provide ventilation to the facade. Vertical seams every two bricks to create such “vents” must be left without mortar. In addition, you should make a gap of about a centimeter under the roof, at the very end of the masonry. Thus, when facing with brick, you actually get a ventilated facade frame structure.

Facing with siding

Siding is an inexpensive and relatively simple and quick way to make the facade of any building, including frame buildings, modern and beautiful. Work on finishing facades with siding is carried out in several stages:

Step 1. Before decorating the walls with siding, wooden blocks are placed on the surface of the walls (they can be used to generally reduce the cost of finishing, instead of metal profiles). The bars are located at a distance of about half a meter from each other, they are fastened along the entire perimeter of the building.

Step 2. At the base of the building, around the perimeter, a starting strip is attached: the correctness of its installation is checked using building level. From the quality of fastening starting bar The quality of the wall decoration also largely depends frame structure siding.

Step 3. To the sheathing frame, or rather, to it vertical posts, a profile corner is attached.

Step 4. The panels are mounted on the sheathing bars. The profile tenon of the panel along its entire length is installed in the latch of the starting strip, and the siding panel is carefully lifted up until it clicks. Done – the panel is fixed. One self-tapping screw is screwed into each frame post along the edge of the panel. The second panel joins the first in the upward direction, also until a characteristic click is heard. After the siding is completed, the panels must be connected with a special connecting strip, which has, first of all, aesthetic significance.

Block house cladding

Decorating the facade of a frame house using such a popular material today as a block house is quite an expensive pleasure. Meanwhile, a building sheathed in this way will look stylish, high-quality, and the finishing itself (with proper installation, of course, will last quite a long time). The strength and lightness of the material, the relative simplicity of façade cladding - these are the most important advantages block house. Moreover, in frame building, which is lined with a block house, creates a very favorable atmosphere for living; it is “easy to breathe” in such a house. However, when choosing this material, keep in mind that it requires ongoing care: periodic varnishing, priming, tinting, etc. But, as a rule, such efforts are justified both from an aesthetic and functional point of view.

If you have certain knowledge, you can decorate the facade using a block house yourself.

Step 1. After the block house has been purchased and delivered, it is necessary to place it in well-ventilated areas for about a week - to adapt to the external environment and, as a result, to prevent deformation in the future.

Step 2. A vertical sheathing of bars (their dimensions are 50x50 mm) is installed on the wall surface. If the thickness of the insulation for the block house is greater, the lathing is made of wood (boards), for the same purpose you can use special hangers for plasterboard sheets. Insulation is installed into the frame, then a vapor-permeable film is installed - a wind barrier and, finally, a counter-lattice made of slats 2 cm thick is installed. It is necessary for high-quality ventilation facade.

Step 3. The block house is fixed along the counter-lattice using self-tapping screws. The tenons of the boards of material should be directed upwards in order to prevent future water from flowing in.

Plaster finishing

Decorating the facades of frame houses with plaster is a less labor-intensive option than finishing with brick, and more labor-intensive than finishing with siding. Decorative plaster looks impressive and expensive, especially if this method of decorating the facade is done correctly, in compliance with all the rules.

If plaster seems to you the best option finishing, you can do this job yourself. It is performed in several stages:

Step 1. A wooden or metal starting rail is fixed above the base of the building, along the lower border of the walls. Its fastening is carried out along the entire perimeter of the frame structure. This rail must be positioned strictly horizontally - this can be checked using a building level.

Step 2. Glue is applied to sheets of extruded polystyrene foam or polystyrene foam - this can be done conveniently with a notched trowel. Then the sheets are carefully pressed against the wall - from the corner. The material should rest on the starting rail. After this, the sheets are fixed with self-tapping screws (for wood), and subsequent rows are shifted slightly: the seams should be like brickwork. We cover the entire façade of the building with the material and foam the seams.

Step 3. We attach the reinforcing mesh to the foam plastic sheets, carefully cover it with glue: a layer of rough putty should appear on the surface (outwardly very similar to plastered concrete).

Step 4. Water (1/3 of the volume) is poured into the bucket and the mixture for preparing decorative (facade) plaster is poured. Using a drill with a special attachment (“mixer”), the solution is mixed well.

Step 5. Finished plaster applied to a spatula and distributed evenly over the walls. As for the layer thickness, in this issue We follow the instructions of the material manufacturer. If you have textured plaster, create a pattern.

In order for the work to proceed quickly and without loss of material, prepare as much solution as you can produce until the mixture begins to set in the container.

Which of the above options is preferable for decorating the facade of a country frame house? You decide. If you want your house to last as long as possible, if you have the financial means, you should choose brick finishing. If, on the contrary, you want to save money, give preference to finishing with siding - this is a good, popular way to decorate the facade of buildings built from various materials - from wood to brick. Decorative plaster is a more expensive pleasure, but the right approach This finish will look impressive and last a long time. Choose optimal solutions and enjoy the beauty and comfort of your country home!

Frame house construction in Russia is developing rapidly. In terms of their qualities, frame houses are in no way inferior to log houses; they are very warm, quite strong, durable, and soundproof. Their advantage is that these houses are not subject to shrinkage over time, and a variety of materials can be used for exterior decoration.

When building frame-based houses, special importance is given to protection load-bearing structures from the influences of the natural external environment, as well as decorating the exterior of the house in a certain style. In this case, the external one protects the frame, additionally strengthens the walls, insulates the house and is an element of the facade design. A variety of materials are used for finishing frame houses.

Materials for finishing facades

    Such as CSP (cement-bonded particle boards), OSB (oriented strand boards), they are used for finishing walls and external cladding frame for the purpose of strengthening;

    Siding. The most common finishing material. Finishing external walls house siding is simple to implement, the walls are easy to maintain;

    Clinker tiles (based on single-firing ceramics). The fashion for it came to us from Europe. The façade, finished with clinker tiles, looks very impressive. The tiles have a variety of surface shapes and different configurations, are strong and durable;

    A block house (imitates a log) or a wood house (imitates a timber) creates the illusion that the house is built of wood. Durable, environmentally friendly material creates a favorable microclimate in the house;

    Natural or artificial stone, as well as brick, is a heavy, expensive finishing material for those who don’t skimp on money. Mount a natural stone difficult. The house looks expensive, the decoration is almost timeless;

    Plastering and painting retain their appearance for 3–5 years.

Choice suitable materials limited only by the imagination of the home owner and his budget. The most commonly used siding is DSP or block house. Finishing with these materials is optimal in terms of price - quality - durability, their installation is accessible to everyone, it is easy to do it yourself.

Finishing frame walls with siding

External is a budget option facade, which, nevertheless, is very beautiful, practical and has high performance qualities.

Plastic vinyl, fiber cement and metal siding are offered on the market. Using them you can imitate any material: wood, stone, plaster and give your home an unusual elegant look. At good care siding good quality will last more than 40 years.

Fiber cement siding is widely used in the construction of frame houses in the USA and Canada. Houses decorated with it look rich. Fiber cement is a mixture of cement, cellulose and fiber (binder).

In Russia there are few offers of fiber cement siding, although it provides much more possibilities in finishing. Its price is higher compared to plastic siding, which also somewhat restrains its spread.

In terms of installation technology, the exterior finishing of a frame house with plastic, fiber cement or metal siding is no different. Included with siding detailed instructions, following which anyone can install it themselves.

The procedure for finishing the facade with siding

    On walls with installed wind protection, a vertical sheathing is mounted with wooden blocks of 40x50 mm in increments of 60 cm. Sheathing made of metal profiles is also suitable;

    The sheathing is treated with a fire-retardant compound and siding strips are installed on it, following the instructions attached to it;

    First, a starting strip is fixed at the bottom, which is leveled horizontally, then the corners, connection elements and end elements are installed.

    They fasten the siding strips by inserting them into the elements covering the ends and into the joining profiles, moving from bottom to top;

    The sheets are attached with nails or self-tapping screws to the sheathing in elongated holes in upper parts panels. The heads of nails (or self-tapping screws) should not firmly press the canvas so that it can move during thermal expansion and not be deformed. Decoration of windows, doors, corners of the house, eaves overhangs produced using additional elements that are sold together with siding.

Siding does not require a ventilated gap, as it is perfectly ventilated. Walls decorated with it can be painted in the desired color and washed periodically. With good care, they will retain their attractive appearance and protective properties for a long time.

One of the disadvantages of plastic vinyl siding is low mechanical strength. Metal is more durable, but it is more expensive.

Finishing with cement bonded particle boards (CSP)

Exterior finishing of a house with DSP slabs is the fastest way to decorate the facade. It is used both for cladding frames and for finishing facades. When sheathing frames, the DSP is attached to the frame posts, and when finishing, they can be mounted using timber sheathing. Sheathing the house with DSP provides it with additional stability, wind and water protection. For exterior finishing, a slab 10–12 mm thick, corresponding to GOST 2618–86 (TsSP-1), is best suited.

Advantages of DSP

    They have a smooth surface, so the finishing consists of painting with preliminary priming. There is a long-term positive experience of using DSP for exterior finishing of frame houses;

    Made from environmentally friendly pure materials, do not contain toxic substances;

    They are classified as low-flammable materials, do not ignite, do not spread fire and do not generate smoke;

    Resistant to insect damage and rot;

    Decorative plaster can be applied to the slabs.

Stages of installation of DSP for thermal insulation when finishing the facade

    Install a vertical or horizontal lathing from a 50x50 mm bar, the bar pitch is 60 cm. The lathing can also be made from a galvanized profile, which is used for drywall;

    A slab is attached to each block in at least three places. This can be done with nails or self-tapping screws, digging them a little into the slab, for which it is advisable to make indentations in it in advance with a drill for metal or concrete;

    Gaps of 4–8 mm must be left between the plates so that they do not warp during thermal expansion and changes in linear dimensions;

    The gaps between the plates are sealed with elastic sealant or covered with decorative strips.

The disadvantages of DSPs include the fact that they are very heavy, can break during installation, and are difficult and tedious to cut. The slabs are cut with a grinder and a metal wheel.

The installed slabs are primed and painted in the desired color or the facade is decorated with “wet facade” type plaster.

Decorative finishing of block house facades

The exterior decoration of a house with a block house (imitation log) or wood house (imitation timber) is actively used in the construction of houses. They give houses the appearance of buildings built from timber or rounded logs. The manufacturing technology of these materials is the same, they differ only in shape. Tree wood is used to make boards for the outer block of a house or wood house. coniferous species(larches, spruce, pine). Boards made from northern wood are denser and more resistant to precipitation.

Block house strips are produced in different widths. Depending on the width, the block house can imitate a rounded log various diameters. Used for exterior decoration wide board from 150 mm and more.

The service life of this finish is about 20 years. Compared to DSP or vinyl siding block house is a more expensive finishing material.

Advantages of a block house

    It does not deform or crack during operation; it is thoroughly dried in the factory;

    Saves good view over time, can be painted in desired color or shaded to match any type of wood;

    Does not rot, is not affected by fungus, is not flammable if it is additionally treated with fire-retardant compounds;

    Lightweight and easy to use, the boards are connected to each other using a tongue-and-groove type;

    Durable material, serves as additional insulation for the house, and is resistant to moisture.

Before finishing the facade of a frame house with block house boards, you should definitely consider the lathing system and creating a gap for ventilation between the wall and the finishing material.

In what order should the boards of a block house be installed?

    Make a vertical sheathing with 50x50 mm bars, aligning them according to the level. Self-tapping screws or nails are used to fasten the house block boards. It is advisable to screw self-tapping screws into the base of the tenon, then traces of fastening the boards will not be visible;

    The boards can be installed starting from the bottom or the top of the wall;

    Before installation, it makes sense to varnish the house tenon block so that there is no white stripe at the joints of the boards when the varnished boards dry out over time;

    An important thing in installing a house block is that the boards should be secured with the tenon pointing up, then dust and water will not accumulate in the grooves.

To ensure protection and long-term operation of the house block, it is specially treated. First they prime, and then apply a layer of colorless varnish or paint. After drying, the surface is sanded and applied finishing coat in one or two layers

Video example of the exterior decoration of a house with a block house:

The given examples of decorating the facades of frame houses do not cover the entire variety of forms and finishing methods. By combining finishing materials and combining them, you can give the house the appearance of lightness or solidity and solidity, classic or modern look- all ideas are easy to implement, since all materials are available.

Which facade to choose for a frame house?

Exterior finishing of a frame house - not an easy task, mainly due to the variety of facade finishing materials.

Exterior finishing of a frame house. Which material to choose?

________________________________________________________________________
Frame house - wooden house. Finishing a frame house is quite an interesting matter.

Due to the versatility of its design, the facade of a frame house can be anything: from wood to a “wet facade” and even real brick. The exterior decoration of a frame house can be almost anything depending on the wishes and financial capabilities of the person.

In this article we will look not only how to choose a facade for a frame house, but also what it should be pie wall frame for high-quality execution of a particular facade.

1. The facade of a frame house made of vinyl siding.

Vinyl siding how exterior finishing of frame house installed quite often, this is probably the most popular and affordable option. This is a budget option and looks quite decent. I decorated my own house with it, albeit vertically, I liked it better as it was quite unusual option— you’ve probably already seen the photo in other posts.

Vinyl siding façade pies:

A. Ventilated
Interior finishing (often gypsum plasterboard) - vapor barrier film- frame with insulation - OSB-3 - hydro-windproof membrane - counter-lattice 50×25 (counter, because it runs parallel to the racks, and not perpendicular to the sheathing) - siding.
It should be clarified that in Canada itself, judging by the reviews of construction specialists, they almost never do this, but in Russia the climate is slightly different, so it is recommended to make siding with a ventilated facade for insurance.

B. Non-ventilated(Canadian version).
Interior finishing (often gypsum plasterboard) - vapor barrier film - frame with insulation - OSB-3 - hydro-windproof membrane - siding.

Siding installation:

The price is from 350 rubles per sq.m. for the most budget siding, but with more or less normal siding, all 500 rubles per sq.m. will come out.

2. Facade of a frame house made of painted facade boards (Swedish-Finnish version)

Typically in Scandinavia, the exterior finishing of a frame house is high-quality wooden boards or good quality imitation timber. Moreover, the front side of the board should be with a pile for better absorption of paint, and all other parts should be planed. Such exterior decoration The frame looks very decent, although the installation of such a board takes quite a long time.

There are several important subtleties with wooden board for facade and frame finishing:

— Needed grinding one side (as I already said). After that, you need to apply a primer to the entire board during the first two days, while the pores of the wood are open.
- After primers, before attaching the board to the facade, you need to paint it on all sides in one layer.
— We fasten the board to the facade, 2 nails 60 mm (galvanized) into each lathing through the board (or flush if you want to hide the nails)
— The gap between the boards should be about 2mm (nail)
— Apply 2 more layers of paint.

If everything is done exactly according to the technology, such a board can stand without additional painting according to 8-12 years(only high-quality paint is needed, for example, Nordica Eco 3330, Tikkurila or Teknos).

Wooden facades on a frame They are almost always ventilated, otherwise they will rot.

That's why frame house facade pie with imitation timber or facade board it usually looks like this:
Interior finishing (gypsum plasterboard or lining) - vapor barrier film - frame with insulation - OSB-3 (the Finns install soft fiberboard instead and then do not install a membrane) - waterproof and windproof membrane - counter-lattice 50x25 - facade board.

In the case of a vertical board on the facade, after the counter-lattice it also goes on top horizontal lathing approximately the same cross section.

In the Russian version wooden facade how to finish a frame house, imitation timber is often replaced with a regular one edged board or lining. This doesn’t change anything fundamentally, except that the lining is often installed in a “herringbone” pattern, like this:

There are also several options for wooden vertical boards on the facade “with a strip.”

Minuses: flammability, need to be repainted after a certain number of years.

The price turns out to be about 650 rubles per sq.m.— (price for 2017) with your own hands (with 3 layers of paint and a primer not made by yourself).

3. Finishing the facade of the house with fiber cement siding

One of the most famous - fiber cement siding Eternit. Feels like ceramic tile. There is also Latonit, it is cheaper, but not as high quality. Exterior finishing of frame houses from Eternite looks rich.

pros: durable, durable (longevity is promised to be about 30 years). It is painted in the factory, so it does not fade for decades.

Minuses: high price, non-trivial installation (150 page instructions), difficult to do it yourself if you don’t have experience yet. Misunderstandings with additional elements. Corners are often sealed with metal or wood.

Per sq.m.= 1000-1500 rubles

4. House facade made of clinker tiles or artificial stone using the “wet facade” system

Exterior finishing of a frame house according to the “wet facade” system requires high level training and skills. But to put it briefly:

Attach OSB-3 to the posts of the frame house. Attach 50-100 mm polystyrene foam to it (it’s better to use a special fastener rather than glue it). Then you make the first reinforcing layer, screws and clamping bushings, the second base reinforcing layer, and then attach the clinker tiles to flexible glue or fake diamond weighing up to 44 kg/m2.

This results in a so-called “wet façade”. A wet façade is needed so that there is something to attach the finishing to; it is not recommended to attach it directly to foam plastic.

Price 500-800 rub/m2, but for the work another 1200 rubles/m2.

To my house = with my own hands 150 thousand rubles, strangers 250 thousand rubles.

5. Plaster facade of a frame house

5.1. According to the “wet facade” system
Everything is the same as in the previous paragraph, only instead of tiles or stone there is paint.

Non-specialists will not distinguish your house from a stone one.

Components of this façade:
— Baumit KlebeSpachtel glue
— Valmirovskaya façade mesh
— Baumit UniversalGrund
— Baumit SilikonPutz plaster coat 2mm
- Styrofoam

5.2. Plaster facade using DSP

For this option, a cement-bonded particle board is used, followed by drywall.

Layers by DSP: primer - Knauf Sevener on fiberglass mesh - primer - Knauf Diamant

Knauf Diamant is already painted in White color. No paint needed.

6. Brick facade. Really?

Brick facade Recently they have also actively begun to use in the finishing of a frame house. When cladding frame houses, you can use both “solid” and “hollow” bricks.

Attached brick to frame wall done like this:

Read more about brickwork as a facade of a frame house and (search the page for the word “brick”).

7. Facade of a frame house made of fiber board under half-timbering

- a slab made of cement (most of it) and wood. It doesn't burn. It is practically not afraid of moisture (especially if you soak it in drying oil).

Among the disadvantages of DSP: the slabs are very heavy, and it is also very difficult to cut them + dust flies a lot from this. In addition, you can’t just nail it down; you need to drill holes first. Also, according to eyewitnesses, the DSP in the frame often cracks, so better than crack close wooden planks“under the half-timbered roof.”

But many people simply install DSP and paint water-based paint. And it seems like nothing bad happens.

Price per sq.m.= 215 rubles.

8. Finishing the facade of a frame house with metal siding

I saw several people on the forum who decorated their house metal siding and very satisfied. Metal as an exterior finish for a frame is still rare. The price is cheaper than vinyl, because... it does not require almost any additional elements, and for vinyl additional elements make up 50% of the cost.

pros metal siding : strength, ease of fastening, speed of operation
Minuses: shields, aesthetics are not for everyone, can be subject to corrosion, easily scratched, overheats, condensation may form.

Must be installed with ventilation gap in the facade, like regular siding.

Price per sq.m.= 500 rubles

9. Finishing LP Smart Side siding panels based on OSB.

The material is new for Russia and is made on the basis of OSB-4. Some praise him, some criticize him. In terms of price, it is midway between regular siding and fiber cement. You can read reviews and opinions about it.

It is known that the cake needs a ventilation gap for it.

Video comparing its strength with the strength of fiber cement siding

Plus Smartside is that you only need to paint one side of the siding, and not 4 sides, as is the case with boards. They paint acrylic paint, in two layers. The joints need to be coated acrylic sealant(A la Titan for siding).

Another plus is durability: they promise 50 years.
Minuses the fact that smartside is 2-3 times thinner wooden board and unnatural.

Price approx. 1100 rubles per sq.m.
Price for my house = 180 thousand rubles.

10. FSF plywood painted to look like half-timbered timber on a frame house

You may read reviews of this technology on the forum; topics appear quite often.

Attached to the frame FSF plywood and is painted with 3 layers (primer + 2 layers of topcoat). Inner side covered with one layer of soil.

And here estimate for the facade frame house in the photo:
Coniferous plywood FSF 9 mm, 1220x2440 mm, grade 2/3, NSh - 56 pcs - 35,784.00
Tikkurila Pika-Teho paint, white, matte, - 18 liters - 9,908.00
Primer composition Tikkurila Valtti Phyuste - 18 liters - 7,508.00
Galvanized self-tapping screws 4x50 3 kg - 615
Paint brush 1 pc – 90.00
Sealant gun 1 pc – 106.00
Frost-resistant silicone sealant 5 pcs – 540.00
Total 54,006.00(at 2018 prices)

Price per sq.m. it turns out to be only about 300 rub.

11. Finishing the frame with shingles (shingles).

Original, beautiful and very expensive. Price approx. 1200 rubles per sq.m.

Personally, I met in person very rarely.

It is done with a ventilation gap. You also need to make a gap between the shingles itself.
