Room standards for installing a gas boiler. #4

Installation gas equipment(boiler) is a practical necessity during the cold season. Gas boilers come in floor-mounted and wall-mounted types. Rules for installing gas equipment, requirements for the premises - all this must be taken into account at the installation stage heating system. For safe installation with gas equipment, it is worth carefully studying all the subtleties that this procedure involves.

Premises requirements

There are several regulatory documents regulating the requirements and standards for installing steam equipment high pressure. Below is a list of collected requirements for a room intended for the installation of gas equipment.

List of requirements:

Boiler room volume

Regulatory documents and safety requirements must be taken into account when installing gas equipment, since improper handling can lead to unpleasant consequences.

Rules for installing and connecting gas boiler equipment

Before you begin installing gas equipment of the type in question in a private home, you will need to prepare certain documents, and then carry out the required actions, which are the rules.

Rules for installing gas boilers:

  • A contract with the supplier regarding the supply of natural combustible material will be required;
  • Installation of gas equipment must be carried out by an installation organization that specializes in providing this type of service;
  • Technical conditions, as well as the equipment installation project, must be agreed upon with the gas service representative at the location where the system is installed. Project documentation, as a rule, is developed by specialized institutes with the appropriate license for this type of activity;
  • Heating system up to P=1.8 atm.;
  • An engineer from the regional or district gas service comes to the site, after which he checks the correct connection of natural gas in the furnace and kitchen. The engineer also checks compliance with the requirements put forward by equipment of this type;
  • The valve opens only if the engineer has not identified any violations;
  • There must be no air in the system;
  • All connections are checked for leaks;
  • A voltage stabilizer is installed, as well as an uninterruptible power supply;
  • It is not allowed to add antifreeze to heating water, as this may damage the sealing gaskets and then lead to leaks in the home heating system.

Important. Compliance with the rules and requirements are mandatory measures for the arrangement.

Wall-mounted boiler: preparation and installation

Prepare for installation gas boiler preferably before purchasing equipment. Thus, the equipment of the device is checked, and attention is paid to the presence of fastening elements. If fasteners are missing, you will need to purchase them separately. The product you purchase must be certified. It is necessary to check the serial number in the accompanying documents with those printed on inside doors. You also need to check the characteristics.

Before you begin installing the equipment on the wall, you need to rinse the internal tubes; to do this, remove the shipping plugs and pass them through the boiler under slight pressure. During the assembly process of the equipment, small debris may have gotten inside the tubes, which simply needs to be removed.

According to the requirements, the wall on which the gas boiler will be installed must be made of non-combustible material. If the wall is made of flammable material, you will need to cover it with a special layer of heat-resistant coating, the thickness of which will be at least 3 millimeters. The boiler is fixed at a distance of 45 millimeters from the wall. Only after careful preparation as described above can you proceed with a safe and correct installation.

Installation sequence:

It is important to know! After connecting the gas equipment, only an employee of the gas organization has the right to open the valve and then put the boiler into operation. They also check the connection, location of the boiler and compliance with other standards and requirements.

Floor-standing boiler: preparation and installation

In most cases, a floor-standing boiler is used to heat large areas. The installation of such equipment often involves distributing the coolant over several floors of the house. As in the case of a boiler wall version execution, it all starts with choice. Before choosing your home, you will need to mentally imagine the location of the pipes in the boiler room.

Taking into account the significant mass floor boiler, we must provide it with a solid foundation. If the floor is wooden, and at the same time quite durable, pour concrete screed is considered an optional action. To do this, you need to lay a sheet of galvanized iron, the dimensions of which are slightly larger than the base of the device. It can coincide on the sides with the dimensions of the device, but on the formal side it should protrude by 30 centimeters, and this is the minimum distance.

Sequence of work:

By following all the steps to install and connect gas equipment to the heating system, observing the requirements of regulatory documents, knowing the rules and listening to the recommendations of experienced professionals, a high-quality work process and subsequent reliable results become possible.

You have purchased a new gas boiler for your private home and it’s time to take its place in the furnace room. To do this, you can hire a specialized company or contact the appropriate service. But the cost of installation in this case will significantly hit your wallet, while there is an opportunity to reduce the cost of the process. Yes, some operations can only be performed by licensed organizations, but this is only half the work; the rest can be handled independently. Here we will talk about how to install a gas boiler in a private house from start to finish.

Where to begin?

Since the installation of new gas-using equipment requires compliance with certain rules, it is worth ordering all work that requires a license from the gas service:

  • Issuance of technical specifications.
  • Development of project documentation.
  • Work on connecting to the natural gas pipeline.

You can complete the rest of the steps yourself. First you need to get gas from the service technical specifications for installation of gas equipment. Check them out or make a copy and immediately order project documentation from them. When it is ready, it will need to be approved by the gas service. As you might guess, this procedure is a pure formality; after its completion, a team will come to your home and install the gas boiler in terms of its connection to the fuel line, about which a corresponding report will be drawn up.

All that remains for you to do is to complete the piping and connection to the heating system and laying electrical networks. Here you will have the opportunity to save money, either by doing everything yourself or with the help of familiar plumbers. The last stage is the final paperwork.

It's just short description one of the possible algorithms for solving the problem, but in reality not everything is so simple, because gas boilers must be installed in compliance regulatory requirements, it wouldn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with them at the stage of choosing a heat generator.

Requirements for boiler installation

First of all, it is necessary to take into account all the requirements for the room where the heat source is supposed to be placed. The options are:

  • kitchen;
  • a room inside the house, adjacent to one of the external walls and having windows;
  • premises in the basement or basement;
  • in the outer annex.

In the kitchen, installation standards allow the installation of a floor-mounted or wall-mounted unit with a heating capacity of up to 60 kW. Equipment with ratings from 60 to 150 kW can be installed in a separate room on any floor, and from 150 to 350 kW - only on the first or ground floor, in the basement or outbuilding. At the same time, it is important to observe the dimensions of a separate room or an attached part; they cannot be smaller than specified in the standards. The minimum standard height of such a room is 2.5 m for any power within the specified limits.

Note. The thermal power values specified in the standards and affecting the installation conditions of the boiler are total power all units in the boiler room, including those working for the needs of hot water supply.

For heat generators with a capacity of up to 150 kW, in accordance with the standards, the smallest volume of the room for installing a gas boiler is 15 m3, in addition, for each kW of water heating equipment, 0.2 m3 is added to this volume. If the total indicator of all units exceeds 150 kW, then the dimensions of the room are not standardized. But the installation rules apply and safe operation boilers, according to which it is necessary to maintain technological gaps between the units and the walls of the room; they are adopted for reasons of ease of maintenance and access to all systems in the boiler room. The dimensions of the passages in accordance with the rules are as follows:

  • From the protruding part of the gas burner device to the wall on the front side of the heat generator - at least 1 m.
  • If the operating instructions for the unit say that it needs to be serviced from the side or rear, then you will have to maintain a passage width of 1.5 m, but when there is no such entry, but you need to provide access to other equipment or fittings, then it is enough to make the clearance 700 mm. In other cases, installation requirements are stated in the product documents from the manufacturer.
  • If you plan to install 2 heat sources in the furnace room, then you should not place them opposite each other, since you will have to provide a clearance of at least 2 m between the protruding parts of the burners.
  • Nothing should be laid through passages at a height lower than 2 m.

For a kitchen where it is allowed to place not very powerful heating equipment (up to 60 kW), there are not the most stringent requirements for the installation of gas boilers. You just need to comply with the volume standard given above, and also ensure air exchange in the amount of 3 times in 1 hour. Additionally, it is necessary to supply supply air for fuel combustion; its consumption for each unit is indicated in technical specifications. This standard applies to all types of boiler houses.

Note. For heat generators with a closed chamber, the installation standards for gas boilers do not force the supply of an air mixture for combustion, since they take air directly from the street through a coaxial chimney, which will be discussed below.

IN regulatory documents it is proposed to organize ventilation for the boiler in the kitchen using an exhaust shaft and a supply grille built into front door. The flow area of this grid is also standardized; its area cannot be less than 0.025 m2. In the same way, you can arrange air exchange in individual combustion chambers. Feeding difficulties fresh air may occur in basements or basement floors, it is possible that to comply with technical conditions it will be necessary to install a special supply fan.

In boiler rooms located on the first, ground floor or in an extension, window openings with a glazing area of at least 0.03 m2 are needed for each cubic meter of room volume. The attached premises also have requirements for fire resistance of walls, a separate foundation and entrance doors. In addition, an extension cannot be built on the front facade of the building, and during construction it is necessary to retreat 1 m horizontally from the nearest window or door.

It should be noted that the requirements for a gas boiler located in wooden house, are identical to the standards for buildings made of other materials, that is, the rules for installing boiler rooms are the same for all buildings.

Installation work for boiler installation

When a suitable room has been selected and design documentation has been completed for it, you can begin to manually install the heat generator in place. To do this, you will need a connection diagram for a gas boiler in a private house, which must be present in the project. It shows the installation location, the distance to all enclosing structures and the technical requirements for the work.

Often, the installation of floor-standing gas boilers requires the construction of a foundation. In many cases it is not needed, for example, when the room has a high-quality screed and the weight of the unit does not exceed 50 kg. If the weight of the equipment is greater than this value, then you will have to prepare the foundation. To do this, you need to destroy the existing screed, pour a cushion of crushed stone and compact it thoroughly. Then tie a mesh of periodic profile reinforcement with a diameter of 8 to 12 mm, lay it on the finished base and fill it with concrete.

In order to withstand the technology of installing gas boilers, the dimensions of the foundation in plan should be 50 mm larger than the dimensions of the equipment, and in height it should protrude 50-100 mm above the level of the screed. Complete hardening concrete slab will take you at least 2 weeks, this must be taken into account when planning the work.

Next, a fireproof asbestos or metal gasket is placed on top of the foundation and a heat generator is placed on it, adjusting the legs of the unit so as to maintain a clear horizontal line. After this, using the gas boiler installation diagram, it is connected to all engineering networks except for the fuel line. This connection, as mentioned above, is carried out by a licensed organization.

To install a wall-mounted gas boiler in a private house, you do not need a foundation, but a solid foundation in the form of an outer wall that can support the weight of the unit. First of all, markings are made on it, showing where the heat generator itself will be suspended and where the chimney pipe will exit. Then, using a hammer drill, a through hole is drilled in this place, into which a metal sleeve is inserted.

There is no particular difficulty in hanging a wall-mounted gas boiler. If the action takes place in the kitchen of an apartment or house, it is necessary to take measures to protect the furniture from debris and then begin the fastening process. Difficulties may arise when installing heavy units, whose power reaches 120 kW; here you cannot do without an assistant.

Note. When a wall-hung boiler is attached to a wall made of flammable material, a special bracket must be made to allow a clearance of 45 mm between the wall surface and the rear panel of the heater. Also, a sheet of non-flammable material should be attached to the wall, acting as a protective screen.

The last thing to do is piping the gas boiler and installing the chimney. Here it is necessary to compactly place taps and other fittings under the body of the heat generator so that everything looks neat and at the same time it is possible to disassemble or change any element. Therefore, when the heating circuit in the house is made of polypropylene pipes, then it is better to use bronze taps and mud pan, and plastic pipes connect via threaded adapters. In this regard, it is somewhat more difficult to install a double-circuit gas boiler, where you will need to lay pipes for hot water supply and correctly connect them to the appropriate pipes.

Requirements for chimneys

In essence, the requirements for the chimneys of floor-standing and wall-mounted gas boilers are identical; the difference may be in the design of the flue itself. It depends on the design of the heat source:

  • Heat generators with an open combustion chamber take air from the room and exhaust combustion products through a traditional chimney with natural draft.
  • Units equipped with a closed chamber draw in air from the street forcibly, using a fan through a double-walled pipe, which also serves as a flue ( coaxial chimney).

A traditional chimney for a gas boiler is installed in the thickness of the wall or suspended from the outside of the building. The cross-section of the outlet pipe from the unit determines the diameter of the entire chimney; it should be the same size, or better yet, 20-50 mm larger. The horizontal section connecting the boiler to the chimney is ideally 1 m long, maximum permissible length– 2 m.

Below the insertion point, a door is required for cleaning and internal inspection, and the blind end of the vertical pipe is equipped with a condensate drain system. When installing the chimney of a gas boiler, you must remember that it is not allowed to cover the pipe outlet with umbrellas, deflectors, weather vanes, and so on. In accordance with the regulations, only a narrowing nozzle can be installed.

Unlike traditional exhaust ducts for combustion products, it is much easier to install a double-walled chimney for heat generators with a closed chamber. Having done in external wall a hole of the required diameter and having built a metal sleeve into it, a coaxial chimney is installed, which is a horizontal double-walled pipe of a certain length. The only condition that must be met is a slight slope towards the smoke exit. This is done to prevent condensate formed in the air duct from flowing into the boiler.

Conclusion

So, installing and piping the boiler with your own hands is not an easy task, but it is quite feasible. It will take a lot of time and patience to complete all the documentation, but you yourself installation work will take a maximum of 3-4 days, or even less. It is important to prepare well and purchase in advance all the missing elements of the strapping scheme, as well as fasteners.

The premises in which the gas boiler will operate are specified in SNiP 31-02-2001, DBN V.2.5-20-2001, SNiP II-35-76, SNiP 42-01-2002 and SP 41-104-2000 - these documents eliminate or minimize any emergency situations. Premises for placing gas boilers fall under the classification of fire and explosion hazards, therefore, when designing, planning, installing and setting up equipment for gas heating all requirements for the room for installing a gas boiler must be strictly observed.

General requirements for the installation of gas appliances

In accordance with the above standards, the room intended for installation of a gas boiler must have good daylight: per 1 m 3 there must be at least 0.03 m 2 of window opening area (but not windows - partitions, frames and imposts are not taken into account). It is necessary to equip the room with a system supply and exhaust ventilation By following rules: the total volume of forward and reverse air flows per hour, multiplied by 3, is equal to the volume of the total exhaust device. In addition to a window equipped with a window, a door with access to the street is installed in the room. The table shows the requirements for room volume:

Attention!

For gas-fired units with a power of more than 6000 W, 0.2 m3 should be added for each extra unit of power.

Supervisory requirements for the premises for installing a gas boiler stipulate that the operation of any appliances for heating an apartment is permitted on each floor multi-storey building and in any room of the apartment. Kitchens in multi-storey buildings, since they are already equipped with appropriate communications. The only condition is general thermal power all devices for heating water and heating the apartment (boilers, boilers, heating elements, heating radiators, batteries or registers) should not exceed a total of 150 kW.

The ceiling height in the room is 2 meters or more. The room in which the gas boiler will be installed and operated must be separated from adjacent rooms by solid fire-resistant walls. Material for walls or partitions must have a fire resistance time limit of 0.75 hours (45 minutes). The boiler room must be designed so that in the event of an operational fire there is no possibility for the fire to spread throughout the apartment.

Attention!

Gas boilers of the TLO brand, operating on the principle natural circulation coolant, can be installed and should be used only in the basement of the house or in the basement.

Installation of a gas wall-mounted boiler - kitchen requirements

  1. Ceiling - 2 meters and above.
  2. The total volume of the kitchen is more than 7.5 m 3, ventilation is equipped, a window is installed and there is a door opening onto the balcony.
  3. For air exchange, it is necessary to install a grille at the bottom of the wall or door that opens into the next room; the area of the grille is at least 0.02 m2.

To install a gas boiler in the kitchen, you may need permission from the gas service.

If the kitchen in the apartment does not meet the requirements of SNiP, then gas heating equipment can be installed and operated only with the permission of the gas supervision authority.

The existing rules for installing a gas boiler in a private house largely repeat the requirements for boilers that operate in apartments in multi-storey buildings. The differences are caused only by the fact that often in a private house there is allocated for heating equipment separate room or the building to which claims are made Additional requirements, listed below.

Rules for installing a floor-standing gas boiler

  1. In a house under construction, it is necessary to plan a separate room for installing a gas-fired boiler. The room should have a natural flow of air through a grille in the door or through a hole in the wall.
  2. A separate hole must be made for supply and exhaust ventilation - it must be located under the ceiling.
  3. A hole in the wall for the chimney pipe, a hole below the chimney for a soot brush (for cleaning the chimney pipe), which is made below the main chimney by 20-30 cm.
  4. The chimney is made sealed so that smoke and carbon dioxide did not get back into the room. To ensure tightness, a smaller diameter pipe is installed inside the large chimney pipe, through which gas combustion products are discharged.
  5. The room intended for installation and operation of a gas boiler must be spacious and provide easy access and operation, maintenance and repair of the boiler. The floor in the furnace room must be made of non-combustible materials - concrete screed, natural stone, paving stones. The furnace room must be connected to the water supply for the operation of the water heating device, and be equipped with a sewerage system.
  6. The area of the room for the boiler is 4 m2, the height of the ceilings in the room is at least 2.5 m2.
  7. Exterior door should be 80 cm wide.
  8. The top of the chimney should be higher than the roof. The cross-section of the chimney pipe must be larger than the diameter of the boiler outlet.
  9. To supply power, the boiler room must be equipped with an electrical panel with grounding.
  10. The gas line is brought into the room in advance. For each gas appliance a separate valve must be installed.
  11. The walls of the boiler room are plastered - it is strictly prohibited to decorate the walls with flammable materials (MDF, fiberboard, plastic).

It is prohibited to store flammable liquids and objects near the furnace room and in the room itself. The foundation under (a gas heating unit or a gas heating water heating unit) should not freeze in winter, therefore its depth should be below the level of soil freezing in a given region. The air from the vent should be clean, that is, the chimney should be located far from the vent. The room or building in which the gas boiler is installed cannot be equipped for other purposes.

Rules for installing wall-mounted gas boilers in an apartment

Typically, in an apartment, a gas boiler is installed in the kitchen, since it already has a gas line, water supply and sewerage. That is, a priori, all requirements for the installation of gas equipment have already been met - all that remains is to connect the boiler. This state of affairs automatically reduces the cost of laying utilities and energy resources. It is prohibited to install a gas boiler in premises in high humidity– in the bathroom, laundry room, etc.

There are several additional requirements for wall-mounted boilers:

  1. The wall or partition for hanging the boiler must be able to support it - on plasterboard or other light partition Equipment cannot be suspended.
  2. If the wall is decorated with flammable materials (wallpaper, vinyl, plastic, MDF, fiberboard), then a 3 mm thick gasket of non-flammable material is installed between the wall. In this case, the boiler must be secured with special hardware that ensures a distance from the boiler body to the wall of at least 4-5 cm.
  3. The minimum distance from the boiler to the ceiling and walls of the room is 0.5 meters. The distance from the boiler to the floor is 0.8 meters.

Before installing and starting up gas equipment, you must obtain all relevant documents. The main condition when installing a boiler in a private house that runs on gas is that an agreement on connecting the gas main is first concluded, and a project for the installation of gas equipment and gasification of the house is drawn up. These documents are developed and approved by the gas supplier in the region.

Despite the growing popularity solid fuel, main gas remains the main energy carrier consumed for space heating. Accordingly, homeowners continue to purchase gas-using equipment. The next step is the installation of a gas boiler, carried out in an apartment or private house in accordance with regulatory and technical requirements. We suggest going through this procedure virtually, starting with choosing a heating unit.

Homeowner's procedure

Installation or replacement of gas heating in country cottages or premises apartment building made with the permission of the relevant service. Moreover, you can install the boiler and make the piping yourself, subject to compliance with current building codes. Employees of the gas supply organization perform 3 types of work: project development (with approval), gas connection and start-up of the heat generator.

Reference. Design and installation are usually ordered by fuel supply companies, although the law does not prohibit hiring third-party companies. The question is the cost of services and the duration of the approval procedure.

How to proceed correctly to install a gas boiler in your home:

  1. Select a room for installation of a heat source.
  2. Buy a heat generator required power compatible with heating system.
  3. Submit an application to the gas supply organization, attaching a package of documents. Obtain technical specifications (TS) for connecting a gas-using installation.
  4. Based on the specifications, order the production of design documentation and have it approved by the relevant service of the gas supplier company.
  5. Following all the rules and requirements set out in the project, install and connect the boiler to the heating system.
  6. Call Gorgaz specialists who will connect to the fuel line and initial start-up of the heat source.

In general, the specified procedure for installing and connecting boilers is valid in all countries of the former USSR. In any case, the homeowner receives technical specifications that list the requirements of current state regulations. Let's look at each stage separately.

Installation room

According to the requirements of SNiP and other sets of rules, installation of gas-fired heaters is allowed in the following premises:

In most cases, gas heating boilers are installed in a separate furnace room. In apartments and small country houses heating units are located in the kitchen, less often - in the passage corridor (applies to wall-mounted versions of heat generators).

Placing the heat generator in a separate room

What are the requirements for the premises:

It is difficult for the average homeowner to calculate ventilation based on air flow in 1 hour. Hence the advice: organize the exhaust through a channel with a minimum cross-section of 14 x 14 cm, the optimal size is 28 x 14 cm. The exhaust shaft exits in the upper zone of the room, the inflow is organized through the entrance door, where a grille with a live (useful) cross-section of 0.025 m² is built. The premises of the gas boiler room are described in detail in the video:

Selection of heating unit

The first criterion for choosing a gas boiler is the thermal power required for heating. Depending on the operating conditions, the performance of the heat generator is calculated as follows:

  1. In the area with temperate climate power is calculated by multiplying the heated area by 100 W. An increasing safety factor of 1.2 (+20%) is applied to the resulting figure.
  2. With a ceiling height of 3 m or more, the performance is calculated based on the volume of the building - the cubic capacity is multiplied by the average value of 40 W.
  3. In the southern regions, the area is multiplied by 80, in the northern regions - by 200 W. The safety factor is maintained.
  4. Estimated power of double-circuit versions and conventional boilers operating in conjunction with a boiler indirect heating, is multiplied by a safety factor of 1.5 (+50%) instead of 1.2.
  5. If the heat generator is connected according to the scheme with buffer capacity– with a heat accumulator, the power reserve is doubled (+100%).

The type of unit depends on. To gravity open systems Non-volatile models of gas boilers are suitable - floor and parapet. Closed circuits operating under pressure, it is better to connect to wall heaters equipped with their own circulation pump and expansion tank.

In apartments and private houses where, for various reasons, flue gases cannot be removed traditional way, it is recommended to install a gas boiler with a closed combustion chamber and forced air injection. Such heat generators are equipped with a coaxial chimney laid out through the wall. The operating principle is as follows: air is drawn in by a turbine through the external channel of a double-walled pipe, and combustion products are ejected through the internal passage.

Registration of permits

Let us clarify the sequence of actions a little: first you need to contact the gas specialists for permission to install the boiler, then buy a heating unit, then request technical specifications and order the project. To obtain specifications and contact designers, prepare a package of documents:

  • ownership of housing - apartment or a private house;
  • current building layout;
  • passport and operating instructions for the gas heat generator;
  • product certificate.

Note. The certificate and documentation of the heater are provided by the equipment manufacturer.

Example of a boiler room project

Having received the technical specifications, pass them on to the design engineers, supported by drawings of the building and your own wishes regarding the installation location of the boiler. If there are no plans, you will have to pay extra for an on-site inspection - the technician will draw up a drawing after the fact.

Advice. Carefully discuss with the designers the main points - the exact location of the heating unit and the design of the chimney. This will save time and start installation work without waiting for project approval.

The finished project documentation (at least 3 copies) is endorsed by the responsible persons of the gas supply organization. On at this stage It is worth ordering the laying of external and internal gas pipelines. Contact the same office or another licensed company.

Requirements for the furnace room

Installation requirements

When installing a floor-standing boiler that burns natural gas, it is recommended to follow minimum distances to walls and other building structures:

  • the width of the free area in front of the front part of the heater is 1250 mm;
  • side passages for maintenance and troubleshooting – 700 mm;
  • The minimum clearance at the rear of the unit is 50 cm.

For mounted gas boilers, the requirements are softer - at least 1 m of free space must be left in front, 20 cm on the sides, and 300 mm on the bottom. The structure hanging over the heat generator should be located no closer than 45 cm, as shown in the diagram.

Before installing a stationary boiler on wooden floors, be sure to place a fireproof gasket made of basalt cardboard and roofing steel, protruding 100 mm beyond the dimensions of the casing, 70 cm in front. If, for various reasons, the heater is located close to the walls wooden house, they should be sheathed with non-combustible materials:

Similar precautions are taken when installing a wall-mounted heat generator on a wooden wall. The simplest fire-prevention measure is to place galvanized metal under the body, protruding 10 cm (downwards - 70 cm), as shown in the photo.

Connection to chimney and heating

Gas heating units with an open combustion chamber require connection to a chimney pipe with good natural draft. Its head should not fall into the wind support zone, otherwise the traction force will decrease to zero. Minimum height chimney - 5 m (counting from the burner), optimal depends on the location and distance from the ridge pitched roof(indicated below in the diagram).

Important point. Connect the gas boiler pipe to brick ventilation ducts made in the wall of the apartment or country house, is strictly prohibited.

The general requirements for chimneys and connecting gas boilers are as follows:

  1. The diameter of the pipe is not less than the size of the unit’s nozzle designed to remove combustion products.
  2. The material of the chimney duct is galvanized steel, stainless steel, brick or ceramics. No aluminum corrugations.
  3. The total length of the horizontal section cutting into the vertical pipe is no more than 3 m; An inspection hatch is installed below the insertion point with a minimum offset of 25 cm.
  4. Distance from metal smoke duct to wooden structures– 0.5 m. If closed flammable material asbestos or roofing iron, the indentation can be reduced to 100 mm.
  5. The maximum number of 90° turns of the chimney should not exceed 3. This does not include 30 and 45° bends used to bypass the roof overhang.

Installation requirements coaxial pipes turbocharged boilers are simpler: the channel is made with a slight slope towards the street plus compliance with fire safety measures during passage wooden walls. The structure of chimney pipes is described in detail.

The boiler piping is carried out according to the following recommendations:

  • the wall-mounted heat generator is simply connected to the heating system through shut-off valves with American connections;
  • Install mesh filters at the gas and coolant inlet;
  • for a floor heater, you need to assemble a circuit corresponding to the heating system: install circulation pump, expansion tank and security group;
  • connect the make-up from the water supply network to the return pipeline with the coolant;
  • when working together with wood or electric boiler consider installing check valves.

For turbocharged heater with high efficiency equipped with a fan and automation, install an outlet with a supply voltage of 220 volts and a ground wire. Make sure that in case of an accident it does not become flooded. When connecting via a stabilizer or uninterruptible power supply, organize a special shelf or cabinet for these devices.

Conclusion

Upon completion of the work, gas service personnel will check the correct installation and compliance with the project. If any critical comments arise, the shortcomings will have to be eliminated - without this, the company will not allow the commissioning and supply of gas to the facility. If there are no complaints, specialists will connect the gas pipe, configure and start up the equipment. All that's left to do is last step– conclude an agreement for the supply of fuel.

Today, gas boilers and water heaters are used everywhere both for heating water and for heating houses. For the most part, separate single-circuit boilers or one single-circuit boiler and an indirect heating boiler are used for heating and hot water supply, which creates certain inconveniences in their placement. Therefore, in houses and apartments with low consumption hot water The installation of double-circuit gas boilers, which combine water heating for both household needs and heating, is becoming increasingly popular. The installation of gas boilers is associated with a number of specific difficulties, related more to compliance with the norms and requirements for boilers than to the process of their installation.

The design of double-circuit gas boilers is essentially similar to the design of a conventional single-circuit one, where gas-burner heats the heat exchanger with coolant. The main difference is the ability of double-circuit boilers to simultaneously heat water for heating the house and for household needs. This is achieved through the combined placement of pipes for heating and hot water supply in the heat exchanger.

At first glance, the heat exchanger of a double-circuit boiler looks like an ordinary coil with a radiator grille. But it is necessary to note the following: the coil of a double-circuit boiler is most often a combination of 2 in 1 pipes. Inside the main pipe through which water for heating flows, there is another one for hot water supply. It should be noted that there is one more important point. Water in such a double heat exchanger circulates in opposite directions in each of the circuits. This was done specifically to improve heat transfer and this must be taken into account when designing and connecting the water supply and heating system to a double-circuit boiler.

The presence of two heating circuits at once also affected the number of connected pipes. In contrast to the single-circuit one, where there were only three pipes, supplying and discharging water and one supplying gas. There are five such pipes in a double-circuit boiler. The diagram depicting a double-circuit gas boiler shows the following (from right to left):

  • pipe with incoming coolant for heating;
  • supply pipe for hot water supply;
  • gas supply pipe;
  • outgoing pipe hot water for water supply;
  • pipe with outgoing coolant for heating.

Important! Before using the above diagram when connecting your own boiler, carefully study the manual for it. It is quite possible that your boiler will be connected slightly differently. For example, both inlet pipes are on the right side, and both outgoing pipes are on the left.

It is also worth noting that today on the market you can find a double-circuit gas boiler, both wall-mounted and floor-standing. In addition to the installation method, the difference between them is that the floor-mounted one requires a separate room - a boiler room, while the wall-mounted one can be installed in the kitchen or in a place reserved for the boiler. Where exactly and how to install gas heating boilers we'll look at it next.

Standards and requirements for the installation of gas boilers

It should be noted right away that the installation and connection of a double-circuit gas boiler can only be carried out by specialized organizations having permission and license for this activity. Self-installation and connection is fraught with rather high fines. But still, you will have to do some work on preparing to connect the boiler and obtaining the necessary permits yourself.

The following recommendations and rules are excerpts from the main regulatory documents, such as SNiP 42-01-2002 “Gas distribution systems”, as well as SNiP II-35-76 “Boiler installations”, Code of Design Rules autonomous systems heating supply SP-41-104-2000. These regulatory documents describe in detail what can and cannot be done when installing gas equipment. We will consider the main most important requirements for installing gas boilers.

1. The room where the gas boiler will be installed must be at least 4 m2 with ceilings not lower than 2.5 m;

2. The doorway in the room must be at least 80 cm wide;

3. The room must have a window opening. The window size is calculated based on the following requirements - for 10 m2 of area, a window with an area of 0.3 m2;

4. Availability is required high-quality ventilation indoors to ensure constant gas combustion. The hole area should be 8 cm2 per 1 kW of boiler power. This also applies to boilers with a closed combustion chamber, for which coaxial chimneys are used, combining the functions of removing combustion products and supplying air to the boiler;

5. The diameter of the chimney is selected according to the power of the boiler itself and is calculated using a special formula. In general, boilers from 30 kW to 40 kW are most often used for heating a house. Accordingly, chimneys with a diameter of 130 mm and 170 mm are installed;

6. The upper end of the chimney should protrude 50 cm above the roof ridge. If a coaxial chimney is used, its outlet end should protrude from the air intake by at least 20 cm;

7. The gas pipeline in the house must be made of metal pipes. But to connect the boiler to the main line, you can use flexible corrugated pipes;

8. The boiler must be equipped with a special automatic current and thermal protection;

9. The room with the boiler must be equipped with a gas analyzer;

10. Installation of gas boilers in basements permitted only for private homes. For apartment buildings, installation of gas boilers is permitted only in the kitchen or in specially designated boiler rooms;

11. Each boiler must be equipped with a gas meter;

12. The room must have a cold water pipeline;

13. In the room where the boiler will be installed, the walls must be leveled and plastered;

14. Boilers cannot be installed on combustible surfaces, in corridors, in the bathroom, in a dormitory, on a balcony, in rooms without windows or vents, in the basements of apartment buildings;

15. The boiler must be placed at least 15 cm from the wall. There should be a minimum of 20 cm from the top edge of the chimney to the ceiling. The outer part of the chimney should protrude 30 cm from the wall of the house. The installation height of a wall-hung boiler should be 0.8 - 1 m from the floor, and a heat-insulating panel should be placed between the wall and the boiler.

Important! If the boiler is a double-circuit boiler with a closed combustion chamber, then the presence of windows in the room is not necessary.

By observing these simple rules You can easily obtain permission to install a double-circuit boiler at home. Of course, it would not be amiss to become more familiar with SNiP, since the above rules are general and certain restrictions are possible for each specific case.

Coordination of installation with authorities

When installing double-circuit boilers, compliance with SNiPs is only a small part of the hassle that you have to face. The most time will be required to obtain the necessary permits and approval of installation. To obtain permission you must do the following:

1. To connect a private house or apartment to the city gas supply, you must obtain technical conditions for the connection. To do this, we write an application to the city gas service. The application must indicate the estimated volume of gas consumed per hour. It will take 1 to 2 weeks for your application to be processed. After which you will be given technical installation specifications.

2. Having received the technical conditions, it is necessary to develop a gas supply project. In essence, this is a diagram for installing a boiler, laying a gas pipeline and connection points. In a private house, this also includes a diagram for laying gas communications around the site. The project is developed in a specialized bureau by design engineers with a license for the design of gas communications. Contacts of companies performing design can be easily found in Gorgaz.

3. After creating and finalizing the project, it is sent to Gorgaz or another competent service (Raigaz, Oblgaz, Mingaz). Project approval may take from 1 week to 3 months. The approval period depends on the complexity of the project itself. Along with the project, it is also necessary to submit a number of related documents:

  • boiler technical certificate;
  • instructions for its use;
  • certificate of compliance with technical and sanitary requirements;
  • conclusions of the examination on the boiler’s compliance with all necessary requirements.

These documents are included with the boiler from the manufacturer, so it is important to check their availability when purchasing the boiler.

Of course, it is possible to reject the project. In this case, you should receive an official document with the refusal and reasons for the refusal, as well as a list of changes for the project. After making changes and resubmitting for approval, you will receive permission to install the boiler.

Installation of a double-circuit gas boiler

Having decided on the installation location of the double-circuit gas boiler, as well as connecting all communications from the hot water supply (hot water supply) and heating to it, you can begin installing the boiler itself. It is necessary to immediately make a reservation that, regardless of whether it is a wall-mounted or floor-standing boiler, the same materials and components will be required for its installation and piping. Below is a general list of what is required for reliable operation:

  • Ball Valves;
  • filter rough cleaning;
  • magnetic filter;
  • mesh filter;
  • gas filter;
  • sweeps;
  • flexible corrugated hose;
  • pressure gauge;
  • thermostat;
  • coaxial chimney;
  • safety valve 3 bar.

Important! Quantity and equipment related materials depends on the connection diagram of the gas boiler.

A double-circuit wall-mounted gas boiler can be installed in almost any room permitted for it. You can install it yourself, but the direct connection of gas equipment is carried out by a specialist who has the appropriate certificate to perform this type of work. Self-connection boiler will entail fines.

Connecting a double-circuit gas boiler begins with preparing the site for its installation. This primarily concerns the supply of pipes for hot water and heating, as well as the preparation of openings for the chimney and wall cladding fireproof material. As soon as everything is ready, we begin installation of the boiler:

1. The first step is to flush the boiler pipe system to remove any dirt particles from the system that may have entered during the boiler assembly at the factory. Then we put the previously removed plugs on them.

2. The wall-mounted boiler is mounted on special strips that are included in the kit. The installation height of a wall-mounted boiler should be 0.8 - 1 m from the floor. We drill holes in the wall for the planks and secure them to the wall with self-tapping screws. For reliability, anchors can be used instead of self-tapping screws.

Important! It is necessary to monitor the horizon of the installed slats. Depends on correct placement the boiler itself. The slightest misalignment can lead to rapid failure of the boiler heating system.

3. Install the boiler on the mounting strips. Let's check how level it is. If necessary, we correct and fix it.

4. We find the incoming pipes and first attach ball valves to them, and then filters for coarse or fine cleaning water. This will allow, if necessary, to shut off the entire system for washing and cleaning the filters.

6. The next step is to install the squeegees. They are the ones that will connect the boiler with pipes from the hot water supply to the heating.

Important! We do not touch the gas supply pipe of the boiler. The installation of the meter, valves, as well as its connection and pressure testing will be carried out by a specialist from the gas company who has permission to carry out this type of work.

7. We proceed to connecting the heating system. If you are connecting the boiler to an old system, you must first rinse it several times to remove scale and salts from it.

8. We connect the squeegee to the heating pipe connected to the boiler. If necessary, a circulation pump can be installed between the outlet and the pipe.

Important! We make sure that the arrows on the taps, drains and filters point in the direction of movement of water from the system to the boiler.

8. We complete the heating connection procedure by connecting the outgoing pipe from the boiler to the heating system. At the same time, we make sure that the direction of water movement on the fittings corresponds to the real one.

9. Connect the hot water supply. All work is essentially identical to connecting the heating, with the difference that instead of a coarse filter, a fine filter or magnetic filter is installed.

10. Attach the chimney to the boiler. To do this, a chimney pipe is inserted into the previously prepared hole and then connected through an elbow to the chimney fitting in the boiler itself.

Important! If you bought a boiler with an open combustion chamber, then the chimney pipe must meet the following conditions:

  • the pipe must be made of metal resistant to acidic environments;
  • the chimney is installed above the ridge of the house;
  • a cleaning hatch must be installed in the chimney itself;
  • the chimney itself should consist of no more than three elbows;
  • parts of the chimney from the boiler to the exit to the street should not exceed 25 cm.

A double-circuit floor-standing gas boiler is also installed in the manner described. Key differences In the installation of a floor-standing boiler, a special room is allocated for the boiler, where fire protection is installed on the floor and walls. In addition, the boiler itself is not attached to the wall with brackets, but is most often fixed to the floor.

Upon completion of the installation of the double-circuit boiler, all that remains is to wait until it is connected to gas pipe and put it to work. This stage of boiler installation is carried out by a specialist from the gas company. It should be noted that if you have never performed this type of work before, it would be better to seek help from the experts. Of course, all the work will cost a pretty penny, but the safety and reliability of the connected boiler will also be much higher.
