How to update an old kitchen set with your own hands: a review of ideas, photos of successful solutions. How can you remake an old kitchen set? How to turn an old kitchen into a new one

When you don't have enough storage space and you can't buy a new kitchen unit, the first thing you need to do is add extra hooks or open shelves. You don't have to buy expensive ones at all. Use rails with S-hooks, wooden crates or pallets, or simply screw a sheet of plywood or a couple of wooden planks to the wall and screw hooks into them to hold utensils (such as tea cups).

Glue the moldings

Such a small detail as molding makes the interior complete and neat. Using molding you can decorate a window or upper baseboard.

Or you can beat up a narrow baseboard by gluing a thin strip to the wall a few centimeters higher, and painting the remaining space with white paint. A wide baseboard always looks much nicer.

Paint the countertop

An old white countertop covered with stains and chips will ruin the look of any kitchen. In this project, the designers propose to cover it with a layer of cement, and then with a special protective layer. Unusual way, isn't it?

group items

It is important that the countertops are free of clutter and unsightly things that immediately create an untidy look in the kitchen. To ensure that items are always at hand and do not spoil the interior of the kitchen, put them in a beautiful container. It could be a basket, a box, or even a wide-necked vase. If there are a lot of items and a wide basket is used instead of a stand, they can be divided into small sections using tins or glass jars.

Decorate the refrigerator

An old white refrigerator can be turned into a very stylish decorative item if you decorate it with colored tape or even coat it with chalkboard paint.

Update your kitchen doors

Glass mosaic tiles that simply adhere to surfaces can easily beautify old kitchen cabinet doors or an unsightly backsplash.

Paint the floors

Old linoleum can be repainted by making designs on it in the form of stripes, squares or any other graphics.

and kitchen faucet

If you have old plumbing fixtures and your kitchen faucet is no longer free of stains, try painting it with an aerosol spray. It will look new and stylish.

Hide technical doors

Any door built into the wall can be decorated by making a painting or photo collage out of it. Simply select the appropriate frame and attach it to or above the door.

Use corners

A great example of rich imagination: hanging cabinets made from old bread bins, painted and hung on the wall in a vertical position.

Lay down a carpet

An instant way to hide worn floors and add color to your space is to lay down a beautiful rug or runner. Of course, you should choose cotton, lint-free options, or jute and sisal.

Do you want something new and fresh in your kitchen interior, but don’t want to undertake a major renovation? A great option is to decorate an old kitchen so that the room sparkles with new colors. From this article you will learn how to transform your interior beyond recognition with little material and labor costs. You will only need a little imagination and available materials. Go!

IDEA #1

An option from the “cheap and cheerful” category is to use self-adhesive film. This relatively inexpensive material, after simple manipulations, will change the furniture beyond recognition. The stores offer a large selection of such films: they come in one color or with bright unusual prints, and can imitate any material: marble, tile, wood, etc. Do you see what a wide choice you have? In addition to its decorative properties, high-quality film is valued for another thing: it is moisture resistant, resistant to temperature and mechanical damage. Thanks to this, it can be glued not only to the facade of the kitchen, but also to the countertop.

Updating an old kitchen this way won't take much time. The list of necessary tools is not that large, if not tiny. To create beauty you will need the material itself, scissors and a ruler. By the way, some companies apply a grid on the paper on the back of the film, so you can cut perfectly evenly. If you don’t need major changes and you just want to refresh the look of the room, then you can purchase vinyl stickers. They can be glued to any flat surface: kitchen facade, refrigerator, table, apron. Manufacturers offer various themes for stickers: they can be delicate flowers or funny images of animals.

IDEA #2

The most obvious DIY option for remodeling an old kitchen is to paint it. A new color can give furniture new life. Rest assured, your guests will think you've purchased a new set! An option for the brave is to combine several colors, then the changes will be dramatic.

IDEA #3

How to restore an old kitchen using other materials, ceramic tiles for example? It's a stereotype that it can only be on the wall. This material will look great on the kitchen façade! The tiles can be the same as on the apron - if you don’t know where to put the leftovers after repairs. Then the motifs on different surfaces will overlap, and the kitchen will become very harmonious. Otherwise, you can play with contrasts and decorate the doors at odds with the overall style of the room.

How to pull off this trick? It's simple: remove the doors from their hinges, clean their surface, and paint if necessary. The tiles are attached to the facade using special glue. If the pattern does not seem self-sufficient to you, then you can frame the tiles in a frame made of decorative molding.

IDEA #4

If the methods described above do not suit you, you will still have to damage the integrity of the furniture. We propose to turn an old kitchen into a new one using new doors. Of all the proposals, this option is the most expensive, however, the result will be more noticeable. In any case, it will cost much less than buying a new headset. If your kitchen model is quite popular, then finding its front will not be difficult. If such furniture has gone out of fashion or was not very common at all, then you will have to look for or order doors. Fortunately, there are quite a lot of companies that offer similar services.

You can vary the cost of restoring an old kitchen. Cheap options: doors made of pine, plastic, chipboard. You will have to spend more money on MDF or solid wood. The installation of new doors can be done by specialists from the same company where you ordered them. However, anyone who is familiar with the word “repair” can handle this simple task. Modern furniture is usually assembled quickly and without any extra effort.

And a few more tricks on how to remodel an old kitchen.

Trick #1

Tip for the lazy: you don't have to remodel an old kitchen to make it look new. You can simply distract the eye from old furniture with bright accessories. Colored curtains, clocks, dishes - and all eyes are focused on them. However, keep in mind that if the condition of the furniture really requires repair, then such a trick will not always be successful. Another nuance: kitchen cabinets should be neutral in color, otherwise the placement of accents will only make the interior too colorful.

Trick #2

Open shelves will lighten the kitchen interior. They also provide more design opportunities, because in this case the tone will be set by the contents of the shelves. Beautiful dishes, original jars for storing cereals - and now a boring kitchen has turned into an island of brightness. To change the interior, just change a few items. Thanks to this, the room will not have time to bore you.

Trick #3

Buy black or brown paint and paint over one cabinet or part of a door. And now there was a place in the room for notes. Here you can mark a list of products you should buy or favorite recipes. The surface is also suitable for leaving a message to your family. By the way, you can buy special vinyl stickers on which you can write with chalk. Then you won't have to bother with paint.

Trick #4

Who would have thought that simple handles could change the interior so much? It would seem such a small detail! But their replacement will be noticeable. By the way, long tubular handles are very fashionable now. They will even turn Soviet furniture into a modern set.

Trick #5

If you want to follow a rustic style when remodeling your kitchen, you can replace the cabinet doors with curtains. This will make the interior more airy. In addition, this will make it easier to get to the dishes.

Trick #6

Moldings are decorative volumetric elements that can turn an ordinary cabinet into an exquisite piece of furniture. It is attached with special glue.

There are many ways to update an old kitchen with your own hands: you can decoupage the facades or cover them with film, change the textiles and dishes, and re-glue the wallpaper.

The kitchen serves not only as a place for daily cooking, but also as a cozy area for relaxation and communication with family and friends. To ensure that your impressions of your surroundings are always positive, you should pay special attention to the interior design. The kitchen space should harmoniously combine design techniques and functionality of existing items. If the interior is created from scratch, then you cannot do without large financial expenses, but to update an already finished space with your own hands, it is often enough just to change the color of the walls, textiles, furniture facades, and add new stylish accessories.

Freshening up an existing space is not that difficult, even if there is a need to replace wall or floor coverings. , such as curtains, tablecloths, chair covers or pillows, potholders, etc. You can sew it yourself by purchasing a piece of fabric of the desired shade. Using the instructions, it is easy to transform kitchen facades by repainting or other restoration. This also does not require special skills.

Several ways to refresh your interior

In fact, there are a huge number of ways to remodel an old kitchen interior with your own hands without much financial investment. This applies to both large-scale changes, such as replacing finishing materials, and smaller ones, such as the use of new dishes, paintings and other decor. You can look in more detail at several particularly popular techniques.

Updating walls and floors, using color accents

Any wallpaper, even the highest quality and most expensive, loses its original attractiveness over time, fades in the sun, fades, gets dirty, and becomes deformed. If the appearance is not very shabby, then you can not change them, but use bright accessories or other details in the interiors, for example, furniture facades.

You can replace the apron in the kitchen area by laying it with bright tiles or mosaics. A good solution would be glass with photo printing of any image or decorative panels with a suitable texture. Also, one of the walls, differing in color, texture or material, can become an accent.

Renewing the floor in the kitchen does not mean completely changing the covering; it is enough to lay a carpet or a bright rug that matches the style. You can also choose linoleum as a new flooring material, and its installation will not be difficult if you follow the instructions.

Textile decoration

A sure way to refresh an existing space is to decorate the interior with new textiles. This includes: curtains, tablecloths, napkins, potholders, furniture covers, etc. All things can be done with your own hands, especially if you have sewing or knitting skills. Before you start making fabric products, you need to decide on their design.

There are many types of curtains and curtains, differing not only in shape and size, but also in the type of fabric. Their appearance depends on the following points:

  • Depending on the size of the room. For a small kitchen, it is better to use curtains made of light, airy fabrics in light shades on the windows. So, the room will visually seem more spacious. Vertical lines on curtains elongate the room, while horizontal lines expand it. A large motley pattern can further reduce the space.
  • From the interior style. When choosing, it is important first of all to match them to the style of the kitchen. For classics, massive curtains with a lambrequin, tassels and fringe are suitable, but only if the area is large enough. In minimalism or hi-tech, you can get by with roller blinds or blinds. For country, Provence, and shabby chic, it is better to use light curtains made of natural fabrics in light colors with an unobtrusive floral pattern.

Don’t forget that kitchen curtains should be practical. That is, it is necessary to choose a fabric that is easy to wash, does not lose color brightness, and protects from the sun and prying eyes from the street. And if the window is located in close proximity to the stove, then the curtains should also be fire resistant.

Interior accessories

The easiest way to change the look of your kitchen is to purchase new accessories for it. It is most appropriate to use dishes in this room. It can be both functional and decorative, for example, to decorate a wall.

But here, too, one cannot fail to take into account the interior style. For classics, snow-white or painted porcelain is preferable; in a rustic kitchen, ceramic and earthenware are preferable; and in high-tech, you can’t do without transparent or colored glass, as well as bright plastic plates and cups.

It’s quite easy to transform your kitchen space if you add some fresh flowers in pots to the interior. Owners should select the type of plants based on personal preferences and carefully monitor them, because nothing can spoil the look of the kitchen more than unkempt, dried flowers on the windowsill.

Restoration of kitchen facades

Another simple and inexpensive way to update and refresh the interior of your kitchen is to replace or restore the facades of the furniture yourself. Some methods virtually eliminate dust and dirt during operation. So, among the popular options are: sticking to the surface of vinyl film, painting and decorating with moldings, decorating with decoupage, etc.

Using self-adhesive film

The range of films is huge. You can find plain options or with ornaments, patterns and other decor, as well as glossy or matte, smooth or textured. Among the advantages of vinyl film are the following:

  • resistance to temperature changes,
  • resistance to getting wet,
  • long service life,
  • decorative functions.

In order to update facades using film, you should prepare scissors, a cutter, a scraper and a ruler. The process must be done very carefully to avoid unevenness and bubbles on the surface.

First of all, you need to choose a film that matches the decor and color so that it looks harmonious in the interior. The amount of material is purchased with a little reserve in order, if necessary, to correct errors that occur during the work process.

The facades must be removed and laid out on the floor, their surface must be carefully leveled with sandpaper, cleaned and dried. The paper on the back of the film should be peeled off in a small area, and then slowly and carefully smoothing the surface with a spatula, attach the film to the entire plane of the facade. After a few hours, the material will completely set and it will be possible to install the facades in place.

Advice! Defects on the film in the form of bubbles can be removed by piercing them with a thin needle and carefully smoothing the surface.

Vinyl film can be used, but also fragments of walls, backsplashes, the interior of cabinets and drawers, as well as household appliances.

Painting and decorating with moldings

Remodeling of a kitchen set made of wood or veneer can be done using paint and decorative overlays - moldings. They are usually used for ceilings and walls; smaller strips should be used for furniture.

For this kind of furniture restoration, it is better to choose a place outside the apartment, since the work involves the presence of dirt and smell. First of all, the facades should be removed and freed from fittings. Then, thoroughly wash the surface, sand, remove dust, degrease, dry and prime.

Next comes gluing the moldings. They must be carefully adjusted in size, laid out on the surface and secured with glue or nails. Then you can start painting. It is better to do this in several layers, optimally in three. Each layer must be thoroughly dried. For painting you will need a roller, brush or spray gun. Do not forget about high-quality ventilation during work.

After the facades have dried, they should be installed back and new suitable fittings should be attached to them.

Decorating using decoupage technique and using tiles

This technique involves applying any image to the surface and covering it with a special varnish. Very often, this method gives objects an aged look. Decoupage will fit perfectly into Provence, vintage, shabby chic and even country style furnishings. To support such furniture, you can make other interior accessories with your own hands.

The decoupage technique involves transferring an image onto a prepared, sanded and painted surface. The decor is usually special napkins, the top layer of which is easily removed and glued with a brush. Then the entire surface of the facade is covered with varnish, which can imitate the effect of craquelure, and abrasion is created by sanding.

You can decorate facades with your own hands using decorative ceramic tiles. Getting started is the same as in previous cases. After painting and drying the prepared surface, the tiles are attached to it with a special glue, and the edges are decorated with a wooden frame.

You can also make radical changes - completely replacing old facades with new ones, rather than updating them manually. The main advantage of this method will be the radically changed appearance of the kitchen, and the set will seem completely different.

The production of new facades can be made to order from a furniture company or you can buy ready-made options in a store. The old doors should be removed from the headset body and measured, and then ordered to be manufactured by the company. Don’t forget about the new fittings that will be needed to attach the facades, as well as handles and other elements.

– for many, this phrase is immediately associated with huge financial investments and discomfort in life. There are many options for remodeling your kitchen space with minimal investment of money and time. Do-it-yourself kitchen remodeling can be started at any time, regardless of the fullness of the budget. The main thing in this case is to carefully work through the project, think through all the details. An old kitchen can be remodeled in a new way in several ways. Remodeling an old cabinet with your own hands is not so difficult; it can be turned into a highlight of the interior. It’s also not difficult and won’t take much time. Let's consider the main options that will require minimal investment (up to 30 thousand rubles).

Updated kitchen looks like new

Finishing work

Remodeling an old kitchen means updating the walls and ceiling. Let's look at the simplest ways to refresh the look of your kitchen:

  1. If there is nothing left to restore and the coating has lost its appearance, then it is better to get rid of it. If the kitchen looks unsightly, and greasy walls make you feel sad, then there is nothing better than fresh paint. Remove the old coating, putty and paint the walls. This is the most economical method, the cost of which will be a maximum of 3,000 rubles including putty and primer. The owner will do this work himself; such a kitchen remodel does not require special skills;
  2. If the walls have uneven surfaces and it will be difficult to level them yourself, then you can wallpaper the kitchen. They will hide minor wall defects;
  3. ceramic tiles, if they are laid on the walls, can be restored in parts. Replace the failed section and do not knock down the rest of the covering.

If you still have old tiles, you can replace the cracked areas with new ones - it’s simple

Do-it-yourself alterations are carried out if the goal is maximum savings. Replacing electrical wiring, plumbing, laying tiles - such work is unlikely to be done independently, so they will have to be immediately excluded from the list. This also includes replacing windows. From this follows the main rule of budget repairs - do not initially plan work that you cannot do on your own.

If the plumbing and electrical have not yet failed, then there is no need to change them. The same goes for windows. Even if they are wooden, install a seal. It will make the window openings more airtight and the apartment will immediately become warmer. Doors are also easy to restore:

  • clean them up
  • coat with fresh varnish
  • change the handles.
  • You can cover the door with wallpaper or artificial leather.
  • If your budget allows, you can install sliding doors in the kitchen.

A popular choice is a glass sliding door to the kitchen. The sash is installed on special rails located along the wall. The movement occurs along the roller. The mechanism is extremely simple, but it allows you to save enormous space.

Updating home appliances

You can update your kitchen by replacing its household appliances. This is an option that will require some investment. If this is not possible, then approach this issue creatively. Another commandment of economical repairs is that nothing should be thrown away.

If you try, you can update all the equipment

Soviet-era electric cookers are all the rage today. They are made with high quality, the service life of such equipment is calculated in decades. Therefore, such a stove can easily fit into the interior. Clean the stove thoroughly and remove all dirt. If there are chips, repair them with heat-resistant paint that matches the color.

An old refrigerator can also be used to its advantage. The decoupage technique, stickers and decals will come to the rescue. In extreme cases, the refrigerator can be repainted. This can be done with car paint in a can.

Budget renovation has one caveat. You need to move on to finishing the walls and ceiling only when the equipment is updated. The appearance of the walls is matched to the already restored equipment. Popular choices are white, light gray, apricot wall colors.

The Best Ways to Renovate an Old Kitchen

Refinishing old furniture is the best way to update your kitchen. An old wardrobe can be turned into an original interior detail. A variety of ideas for repurposing old furniture will give any, even the oldest, furnishings a modern look.

Old kitchen cabinets will spoil the look of the kitchen even if the walls and ceiling are restored. Furniture renovation takes place in several stages. First, the cabinet must be removed from the wall and thoroughly cleaned of dust and dirt. Remodeling a cabinet with your own hands does not require specific tools. The grinder can be replaced with sandpaper, the screwdriver with a screwdriver. After the cabinet is removed, you need to remove the doors and shelves from it. It is better to remove the old coating with sandpaper. Furniture will immediately take on a fresh look if you replace old hinges, handles and bolts. The cracks are sealed and covered with a layer of putty. The outside of the cabinet can be painted with acrylic paint in one or more colors, and varnished on top. Old doors will perfectly replace sliding cabinet doors. They are very convenient to use, especially since they will save space in a small kitchen.

Repurposing old chairs will be even easier. Initially, they need to be strengthened by tightening all loose bolts. Next, the chair needs to be sanded and covered with fresh paint. Cover the seat with new fabric and replace the old foam rubber. For the stool, you can sew a new seat cushion. That's all the redesign of the chair.

You can change the appearance of the kitchen in many ways: repaint the walls or decorate them with photo wallpaper, install blinds instead of the usual curtains, use a different lighting scheme, and so on. But of all the possibilities, updating is the most desirable option and, as many believe, the most difficult and costly.

Actually this is not true.

Basic Kitchen Renovation Techniques

In fact, the work that a home craftsman can resort to is determined by 2 main factors: the material of the set and the intended style of the furniture. Moreover, the first question is of fundamental importance, only in what form: wood or all other materials. The second one decides which design techniques are acceptable and which are not.

The most available conversion methods include:

  • painting is an operation that is not possible only with acrylic sheet coating;
  • fastening the molding is not suitable only for the same option, and is also impossible with;
  • pasting with film - has no restrictions;
  • aging is an option for;
  • decoupage - not suitable only for acrylic coating;
  • Well, the most radical way is possible in any case.

Classic cuisine

Both the classic interior and the palace interior should be included here, since in such a functional room the difference will be small. How to update kitchen facades in a classic manner?

The easiest thing to redo, of course, is smooth facades. Not as many problems as it seems are caused by radius ones, since cabinetmakers have been using curved facades for quite a long time. But difficulties may arise with finishing if we are talking about sheet plastic - HPL and acrylic. In fact, nothing can be done here other than gluing it to look like wood.

In all other cases, do this.

Select the appropriate furniture molding - this product has many types and sizes. For a classic interior, a simpler, elegant molding is preferable; for palace styles, you can choose an option with a complex configuration, with gilding. Even overhead carved parts can be used.

  1. The façade to be renewed is removed from its hinges and the fittings are removed. All old finishing layers must also be removed. The enamel and varnish are removed with a solvent, the PVC film is heated strongly, and so on. If necessary, clean the surface of the sash with sandpaper.
  2. The molding is cut to size, the corners are filed at 45 degrees. Then the fragments are fixed to the surface with ordinary wood glue.
After drying, the renewed sash is primed. You can use a brush or spray gun.
  3. After drying for about 1 hour, the product is painted. If, in addition to the molding, carved elements are also attached, it is better to paint them with a brush; it is recommended to repeat the painting.
  4. Then the fittings are fixed to the façade- old or new, and install the sash in its place.

Despite the fact that wood is considered a traditional material, single-color facades with moldings are quite suitable for a classic interior. And for the palace style, light shades - salmon, pastel pink, champagne color - are even more suitable than imitation wood.

Country cuisine

Updating facades, Provence or English will require the use of other methods. The main differences between the rustic style are apparent simplicity, but combined with smoother outlines characteristic of antique products. The strict geometry of flat facades is not suitable here.

Another feature is the antique effect. It is created mainly through the use of special paints. In addition, when remodeling, you can combine several colors to create the effect of old furniture repainted several times.

How to update a kitchen set with your own hands for a rustic-style interior? The following methods will work.

For wooden kitchen facades and doors made of wood material, painting, but a specific one, is ideal. To do this, the façade is removed, the fittings are dismantled, the old finish is cleaned and the product must be degreased - the product is used depending on what kind of paint the product is going to be coated with.

Requires several shades of paint. You can get by with 2, but still, more often they use 3, even bright ones.

  1. For example, first paint the surface with a white base paint, then, without waiting for complete drying, apply a layer of blue.
  2. Use a dry sponge to wipe off some of the paint so that the white shows through the blue layer.
  3. At the next stage, apply a third layer - for example, green, and also partially wipe it off, without waiting for the paint to set.
  4. The appearance of a DIY kitchen takes on the effect of antiquity, as if the set had been painted several times and served in the home for decades.

Renewal can be achieved in another way, but, however, this method is only suitable for natural wood. In this case, the façade, cleared of varnish or paint, is treated with a stiff metal brush to obtain scratches and grooves. Then the surface is burned with a blowtorch so that the edges of the grooves are charred. The soot is not removed, but, on the contrary, rubbed into the wood with a soft brush and varnished along with it.

This set looks really old and authentic.

Retro kitchen

Updating to look old is a fashion trend and comes in a variety of styles. Moreover, such a remodel actually takes less effort and money than trying to give the kitchen a new look.

For the retro style, the ideal method, and suitable for absolutely any furniture, is decoupage - a technique for attaching patterns to the surface of the door. You can use any options as a drawing: images on special napkins for decoupage, drawings from a magazine or album, book illustrations, photographs - black and white photographs and newspaper clippings are especially effective. Pieces of fabric, lace, leather, leatherette, dried flowers and herbs, spikelets, grains, flat beads and rhinestones, and so on are used.

Decoupage is done very simply.

  1. First, prepare the surface: the material without the old finish is sanded, varnished, polished plastic surfaces are degreased.
  2. Cut out a drawing - from a napkin, from a newspaper, from a photo, generously smear it with glue - the material should be saturated.
  3. Carefully apply the drawing: to the entire surface of the facade (in this case, the fittings are first dismantled) and to the inside of the paneled sash, only to a certain area. Smooth the image with a brush to remove any air bubbles.
  4. After the glue has dried, the sash is opened with varnish. The procedure is repeated three more times after the previous layer of varnish has dried.

Modern style kitchen

I can’t show you how to update kitchen units with your own hands in a photo, but they allow you to see the result. Sometimes such updates look so amazing that they seem to be the result of the efforts of professionals. In fact, the secret lies in modern materials.

Vinyl decorative stickers are the simplest, most affordable, and perhaps the most effective method of turning any kitchen into something completely new. It is often used for this purpose (a layer of glue is already applied to its back surface). The design is very different: monochrome, with images, patterned, imitation of natural textures and even 3D images - there are a lot of options.

To give your headset a unique look, do this.

  1. Remove the sashes and remove the fittings. An additional advantage of this decoration method is that facades can be of any shape and size.
  2. The film is cut to the size of the facades. You should not do this without preliminary measurements, even if the dimensions of the headset are quite standard: during use, the dimensions have changed at least a little. When cutting, you need to take into account the coincidence of the boundaries of the images and the motifs of the ornament.
  3. The surface of the furniture is thoroughly wiped and degreased.
  4. Peel off 2-3 cm of protective paper and secure the adhesive side to the sash. Then, holding the film with one hand, the other gradually unfastens the paper and presses the film. Smooth out with a spatula if necessary.
  5. They install the fittings (preferably new) and put the facades in place.

Fashionable trends today - facades with different designs allow you to combine single-color doors and doors with images or patterns. This technique is very effective when it is necessary to change the proportions of a room and is readily used by professional designers.

Eco style kitchen

The ideal option for such an update would be rattan fabric, offered in rolls or cut. The material is not cheap, but the look of the furniture is very impressive. Preparing for remodeling takes a little longer.

  1. The rattan fabric must be moistened with water and left for at least 30 minutes so that the material absorbs moisture. When rattan swells, it increases in volume, and when it dries, it stretches like a drum.
  2. You will need wooden slats with which you will need to hold and press the canvas to the sash. The slats are selected according to color and texture. The shade can be changed using stain or colored varnish.
  3. The facades are measured and the canvas is cut to size. A sash on which rattan occupies the central part looks more elegant, so the fragments are cut out somewhat smaller than the sash, and the planks are selected wider.
  4. The material is secured to the kitchen facades using a conventional stapler.
The edges of the rattan insert are pressed with slats and secured with furniture nails - without heads.
After updating, the sashes are installed in their places.

There are many methods for updating a kitchen set. Most of them do not require large expenditures at all, take very little time and are done with your own hands.
